The bellow & the whale is the artistic collaboration of musicians/visual artists Bianca Goyette and Julia Lee Norris.  They create to bring people together; to facilitate positive and constructive conversations between opposing viewpoints. Together they use overlapping thematic elements in the form of imagery and sound to erode the distance between the way we choose to see the world versus what is actually there.  Their sound, indie-pop in flavor, draws on various genres and styles but is rooted in the traditions of soul and folk music.  They experiment with harmony and vocal timbre, pulling in a range of emotion, from joyful and powerful to mournful and haunting. 
Born in Chicago (the partnership, not the individuals), the duo has released six studio singles with accompanying photographic, illustration, and video storytelling devices.  Their latest video for their single 'the same song,' is a short film produced in collaboration with brother/sister film duo Josh and Sarah Anderson.
