Scuffed co-founder @wagerdj and More Time/Roska Kicks & Snares alumnus @blahzayvanguard first started producing together in 2018, finishing several tracks that saw club and radio play but never an official release.

Nameless is the first of those tracks to see the light of day - a percussive roller combining elements of both artists’ influences to form a hybrid UK-Trini sound.

Eterna, the latest addition to Lisbon's dynamic music landscape, presents its second release ’Primitive Soundscapes’, by the visionary producer Bakongo (Livity Sound) otherwise know as @roskaroskaroska for his invaluable pioneering work in UK Funky.

Bakongo re-emerges as a sonic innovator in ‘Primitive Soundscapes’. This EP transcends boundaries, inviting listeners on a journey through pulsating rhythms and colourful melodies, with a keen focus on the dancefloor.

‘Frozen Isle’ starts to set the tone with its sub-heavy percussive tension interwoven with abstract soundscapes and punctuated by a hip-hop scratch effect. ‘Deeper Than’ follows suit, offering a sun-kissed bouncy groove adorned with uplifting melodies, infusing warmth and vibrancy into the record.

‘Best of Both’ delves deeper into Bakongo's percussive prowess, delivering an infectiously broken yet subby rhythm, ready to ignite the dance with its infectious energy. Rounding off the EP is the @motu_dj remix of ‘Frozen Isle’, a testament to the UK bass aficionado's ingenuity. Motu adds layers of texture and dancefloor weight to the original, bringing it to new sound design possibilities.

During my time in Ireland I got to explore a beautiful place that I still think about almost daily. I specifically loved this town called Doolin, which was a small little port town on the west coast of the island. While in Doolin I had the pleasure of witnessing Eoghan’s craft. It completely blew me away. All I knew was I wanted to interact with his style of music somehow. I recorded a couple of Eoghan’s performances with the intention of making something out of them but then I came across this wonderful song, Nóra. Admittedly, I surprised Eoghan with my remix in hopes that he would simply appreciate it, but what I wasn’t expecting was to get the okay to release the song officially. 

Thank you Eoghan for the chance to show my take on such a beautiful song 🙂
