Big Summer is back with ‘Hungry Smile’ - a song that throws the listener right into the heart of a seemingly endless lover’s quarrel.  The upbeat rhythmic drums have a contradictory effect of keeping us tense throughout the verses whilst the more relaxed psychedelic synth choruses lulls us into a sense of ease that doesn’t really exist. In line with Big Summer’s previous release ’Trigger’, we can perceive a definite shift from a feel-good, sun-filled vibe to something much darker instead…

Hungry Smile

Big Summer’s new single is a fast-paced, one-minute-til-the-end-of-the-world type of tune. The ground is shaking and thunder and lightning is falling from the sky: it’s easy to stay behind and do nothing when you know your days are numbered. The song focuses on the inner struggle we sometimes feel when everything seems doomed and explores the need to decide whether to stay put or start running. And despite being written a couple of years ago, it definitely resonates with current events.

B.S. is the lovechild of Portuguese singer songwriter Vasco Batista, who has been writing, singing and performing for as long as he can remember. One thing has always been present: the need to experiment with different styles.
