At 1.15 am on 17 April 1941 a German bomb landed on the air raid shelter at 50/52 The Cut, just across the road from where I now live. The Young Vic theatre now stands on the site.

Chuggin Edits is back with a seriously catchy re-edit, familiar to many from the sub sub track ‘Ain’t no Use’ it’s recently picked up by Craig Charles and has been used as the intro to his Funk & Soul show on BBC 6 music.
The Sub Sub track itself used a sample from a 1979 Disco track Good Morning Starshine which itself was a cover of the iconic 60's track from the stage production of Hair and originally sung by Jill O’Hara and the company, it was also a US top 10  hit by solo artist Oliver, listen to the tracks and you’d never guess they are going to influence a new edit in 2020 no less a dance hit of the 1990s.
So back to 1979 towards the end of Disco’s peak New York producer Walter Schatz put together a four-track album called Disco Spectacular, inspired by the movie version of Hair and featuring a singer who started out with a six week run on the broadway production Vickie Sue Robinson, famed for 1976 grammy nominated song Turn the Beat Around, Vickie was heard singing in a studio by Walter and rightly believing she had a voice suited to disco, they went on to produce music together off and on until the mid-eighties.
