Is there an answer to my question of longing ?

this set shows a lot of my favorite artists and spotlights juke and
jungle and everything hybrid in between and around as the styles that
influences me most: they can be soothing, stressful, weird, funny,
groovy. challenging our listening and dancing behavior and I can’t
express my gratitude for these genres & their artists.

Alex Ferrazzi and Matteo Keemani a.k.a. Blue Mondays, longtime Laterra friends and collaborators (with releases on Sonar Kollektiv, Rebirth, Snatch!,Memento, Manocalda as well), strike again. They do it, as usual, their very own way: shades of Balearic flavours in there, but with a very dark and malicious twist. Marvin & Guy add some disco nuances (keeping it raw and obscure, though), while Nick Anthony Simoncino delivers a solid, strict, gloomy dancefloor affair. No frills, mad quality.

After his first apparition under WVRXRVW on Nous Disques Records's Various, he takes off and burst into his mind to connect his propositions.

Garies come through for Future Times! After putting a killer on the FIGS Compilation last year (the excellent “Don Bongo”), Lumigraph and New Jackson team up and go wild for a four-song collection. Again channeling a few sounds at once, Garies go up and down with the tempo from the lazer-and-dirt-soaked opening rumbler “Emergency Tenner” thru the Dance-Mania-off-the-rails energy of the B2, “What A Room.” Get In.

Following last years remix of ‘System’ with Tiz East, Simkin returns to All Centre with ‘Toxin’ the second dose of his infectious hybridized club sound.

On the title track he picks up where he left off, riffing on the tropes of techno and club styles with ease and continuing to set the pace for what’s to come. Sprawling high pitched FX fly overhead veering in all directions whilst a cavernous chord pins down the tracks chugging beat as it lurches forward.

B-side ‘Anarres’ begins with an assured combination of deep 4x4 kicks and industrious percussion that are later joined by an angelic haunting melody and a picked bass line. As the track glides along further drums begin to syncopate, locking the listener deeper into a phantom breakbeat groove.

Toxin is available across all platforms from the 6th of March.

The second installment of the Apt E vinyl series comes courtesy of two luminous enigmas of the Seattle scene, Wetman and Sword of Thorns.

Staking claim on outside tracks A1 & B1 is Wetman, co-owner and operator of @vivid-recordings

A1 - I Can't Stop is a dense and steamy masterclass of morphing breakage delivering ecstatic release by means of perspiration. It's not that Wetman doesn't WANT to stop. It's that he CAN'T stop.

B1 - Wine is a searing journey inwards — a stunning aural hallucination from elsewhere designed to summon even the stiffest of bodies to the mind's dancefloor.

Bearing Seattle's footwork torch, Sword of Thorns lands on inner tunes A2 & B2.

A2 - Misidentified bounces into your heart with its galloping low-end flavor of funky drum workouts. Don't get mistaken for someone who'd be outside smoking when this one gets dropped. 

B2 - I'm Still Dancing closes out the record with a buoyant groove beamed to Earth from the skies above. Elegant heads-down broken beat that effortlessly floats into the horizon. One for the after's afters.

“Névoa” is the latest beguiling mutation from the Brazilian producer Naves Cilíndricas, in which his shape-shifting sound design skills come to the fore as an ever-morphing, hyper-modern feature that never shies away from its highly affective if not androgynous pathos; beneath its multicolored digital simulacrum, one can still find traces of human vocalizations next to fragmented robotic speech. Its ultra-stylized tones and somewhat percussive ghostly presence should perhaps be perceived more as sonically sculpted environments where one can navigate and drift through rather than tracks per se.

At times melancholic and ethereal and by the same token hermetic and noisy, his melodic arrangements composed of digitally generated timbres and hyper-processed vocals simultaneously evoke dystopic images and videos in an attempt to extrapolate the limits between body, sound, and image.
