The B.L.A.C.K. (Michael Lane) began his musical journey at the age of 5. He quickly became a credible self-taught singer, piano player & songwriter. He still sings & record muzik under his real name, Michael Lane. But as The B.L.A.C.K., he expresses another side of himself. "The B.L.A.C.K. is my angry side. It's a side where I can express my frustrations with no qualms." says the sort-of deep voiced artist. "I'm from the ghetto streets of Chi-Town. So you know I got the hood in me no matter what else I do. But in the long run, the message is still the same.....PEACE!"

The Chi-Town rapper also works with other groups. Chi-Teck, The Black Klann, The Blood Brothaz, Windi Cali Committii, Drastik Measirez & F.T.O.L. Records. His goals are simple. "I just want 2 see my boys on top. And as 4 me, I hope that my success will be measured not by chart success or fame. But by helping a kid or more than 1 2 stop the gangbanging. 2 stop the violence. Ya know? 4 people 2 be more responsible". He continues, " My people don't need 2 be put down. We need 2 be uplifted. We'll never value lives if we don't value ourselves. And if I play any small part in that process, that will be my success." Well said.
