While living and working abroad in Honduras as a history teacher from 2010 to 2012, Brian Katz (The Blind Window) performed and recorded what was to become his first release, "San Pedro Sula Sessions EP". These songs were inspired by his experiences living in Central America and the historical narratives he taught to his 8th grade students at that time. 

Always a musician, the isolation of living in a far off place gave Brian the perfect chance to hone his craft. He self-released some of his demos in 2011 and was awarded a semi-finalist position in the International Songwriting Competition of 2011 for his tune, "There Have Been Times". 

In July 2012, The  Blind Window debuted his first extended release, "San Pedro Sula Sessions" to great acclaim.
