As I keep doing This Book of Curtis thing I am realizing that it is very much becoming an audio diary.  And for those of you who are resonating close enough to care about what the world sometimes sounds like to me seriously thank you.  You truly are the brightest stars of the darkest skies.  

Now this song I wrote and recorded when I was 18 for a friend of mine who was 17 and going through something we both thought was rough.  Another friend of mine John Guffa (Amazing Musician) wrote and recorded the guitars and I came and laid down the vocals one sunny afternoon in Tempe AZ.

I guess that’s a big reason why I write and record music mostly to help myself understand things that I don’t and perhaps help out a friend or two along the way as well.

Loves Arms

Man there have been some real roller coasters in life these last couple of years and this song imparticular I keep really close to my heart.  Singing it in my head or out loud gets me through some real thick spots. It was written by his senior dopeness Hagoth Aiono (Long Beach King) and I recorded a quick version at my friend Michael Khueli's house in North Germany.  I truly am blessed to have such talented creators in the Pantheon.

Everything's Gonna be Alright

Curtis Casey is an American Born Singer Songwriter from Phoenix Arizona who was raised all over the United States as well as the country of New Zealand where his Mother was born and raised.  

“We moved around our fair share because my father was a nuclear engineer. Music and song writing with an acoustic guitar became my constant and was my safe place.  To this day whenever I walk into a room and there is a guitar in it I immediately feel welcome.”

As a half Polynesian half Irish American Curtis learned to love and appreciate music and singing of all types at a very young age and still loves the entire process of writing and recording music.  

For 15 years he toured all around Europe and the United States with his Active Rock / Nu Metal band, Vayden.  

“We were lucky we got signed to a subsidiary of Warner Music very young and they sent us all over the place to play.  We ended up recording 3 albums together and 2 EPs.”

Now Curtis enjoys the simple joy of singing nice songs in cool places to appreciative audiences.

Today he lives in Marina Del Rey with his wife, two sons and small daughter.
