This is a composition of organic and synthesized sound. The piece morphs from one to the other.  Trying to blue boundaries between what it real and man made.  

The notion of morphing from synthesized to organic sounds was something I found fascinating.  Somewhat like what M.C. Escher does in some of his illustrations.  

The processes used are similar to Musique Concrete and Elektronische Musik.  The composition comprises of 39 sounds, of which 8 are synthesized and the other 31, are field recordings (some of which are processed). 

This is not supposed to be a specific track of sorts but more of a collection of sounds that work well together on a harmonic level.

Metamorphosis

I thought it was time I uploaded a track.  This one has been made over the past few months and came about when putting an Ableton tutorial together.  

It's a straight-up 4/4 melodic techno track that was put together with various bits of hardware, software, field recordings and so on. 

It's not been mastered, other than what I've done myself.  Although the levels and overall mix are reasonable.

Automata Theory

Thanks for checking out the track. Most of the sounds in this track are field recordings from around the coast of Donegal, Ireland. Other field recordings are from sea creatures, hence the name of the track. 

This track is currently unsigned / unreleased.  This is also a rough master.

Subdued Mixtape Recorded at Tosh Studios - February 2018

This track was recorded in one live take, from a modular synth patch I put together.  

It uses a number of timed and semi random movements, that continually evolve and create change throughout the track.  

Movements in pitch, envelope cut-offs and bursts of additional notation were manually added/changed and recorded live.

This is a live recording of a modular synth patch and a Behringer model D.  

Played live and recorded in one take.  The only thing that was added / subtracted afterwards was EQ, reverb, delay and limiting in Ableton.

Creative explorer of all things audio visual; Jonny Boy has been flying under the electronica radar for a while. 

One of the co-founders of Culture Glitch Records, JB has been involved with signing, promoting and distributing music for artists across the UK and Ireland. 

To date, Culture Glitch has released tracks from artists such as The Cyclist, Ryan Vail, Best boy Grip, Shammen Delly and The Crimson Underground. 

For almost 20 years, Jonny has been DJing and hoarding good music to spin at many respected events, such as Celtronic Music Festival, Electric Picnic, Life Festival, Sunflower Festival, Stendhal Festival, Airbound - Croatia and more. 

More recently, Jonny's DJ sets have morphed into hybrid AV type of performance where he uses turntables, mixers, drum machines and FX pedals, while mixing visuals using a program he built to compliment his sounds. 

A keen believer of sharing music and knowledge, Jonny opened Movin Music Academy where he teaches what he loves in one of Irelands finest electronic studios.
