This playlist features four songs from the soundtrack of The Bridge, a new musical by Stuart and Andrew Maxfield, which will receive a debut performance on February 10, 2016 at the Harris Fine Arts Center in Provo, UT.

The Bridge adds a new installment to the contemporary musical traditions of The Who’s Tommy, Green Day’s American Idiot, and Duncan Sheik’s Spring Awakening. It is a retelling of the classic American short story, “An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge,” written by Ambrose Bierce in 1890, and described in 2005 by Kurt Vonnegut as “… a flawless example of American genius.” The production includes live performance by Stuart Maxfield of Fictionist, augmented by an extended jazz ensemble, vocal ensemble, string quartet, and two actor/dancers. The story is also told with video and brief excerpts from the short story projected behind and around the musicians onstage; otherwise it is without dialogue.
