A man meets a woman at a mellow daytime party in Brooklyn; a cat symbolizes the easy comfortability of their progressing connection. Recorded directly into my iPhone.

LYRICS:

Vanille arrived early with friends, and I said my hellos
And there we first met, fresh pineapple under our nose
Our small talk was psychic; which must have attracted the cat
[Who led] us to the free living room, all alone for a chat

My body felt good in the chair, and our shoulders were squared
Guests flowed in and out, 'til each one had spent some time there
All the honeydew glasswares and teas from south China were shared
But I stayed immersed in Vanille, with the curly brown hair

Concerts recounted, and origins grounded, in a warm ambience of purrs
Reservedness eased, confines being teased that had proven themselves for the birds
With cool fascination, she'd prod the perceptions I tossed
And our words all descended from heaven, like on Pentecost

When I finally said
All the thoughts in my head
She blushed from her face to her elbows
And fondled her sleeves
In a backdrop of leaves
That shone on her hair through the window

Her neck was a chalice of bronze, where the king's wine is filled
A tower in the woods, the hope of all lost in the hills
Angled and legs-crossed, she reigned as the song of the chimes
We laughed through our words, but the picture was clear in our minds

The music is an homage to the Pet Sounds album. The lyrics are based on Jackie Kennedy's interview with Arthur Schlesinger from March 1964. This track was recorded onto analog tape at The Bunker studio in Brooklyn, NY in August - December 2016. Sissy Clemens is the featured vocalist.
