FALL 2020 selection

The 20th release all together the various sounds of the label V/A "The Phantom Images". With this issue we mark an important date for us - 5 years of our activity. We tried to collect our best releases and join future label artists. 

Alexey Bork aka https://soundcloud.com/rudiment-1 published a release "Death In Club" on our label. Also participated in the creation of the Culture Trax project.

Alexey arrives in his tiny flat outside St. Petersburg and produces his heavy sound numbers driving by the inspiration of the true reality...
Track are written without using a computer and are an example of analog technology.

“Dysfunctionalism” marks Survival Paradox’s debut 12” release in the form of a cerebral deep dive into relentless confined aggression. The nearly 40 minute vinyl + bonus digital tracks crawl under the listener’s skin with its deceptively simple hypnotic rhythms. This carefully crafted LP unveils its complexities by spreading into every cell of the timbres and sequences within, fusing elements ranging from minimal techno, old-school Goa Trance and late 80’s/early 90’s EBM. “Dysfunctionalism” can best be described as a kind of Hypnotic Body Music. The vinyl also includes an edit by SARIN plus 2 bonus digital tracks. Released by X-IMG & available as a limited run of 300 vinyls + digital.

Louisahhh has always channelled themes likes rebellion, darkness and ​the fight against oppression through her music and the first offerings from her upcoming debut album are no different. 

‘The Practice of Freedom’​ will be released in 2020 via He.She.They., the label, club brand and collective Louisahhh is now a part of. The first two tracks from the album are released on December 13 and 'A Hard No'​ and 'Chaos' both showcase Louisahhhh's jagged and unrelenting take on electronica.

Forward-thinking Italo-come-EBM fusion on the latest Italo Moderni release. 3 original tracks by Technobeton following on quickly from their Bordello A Parigi debut under their Discobeton guise. Technobeton's first solo EP crosses the lines between disco, italo-disco and club-focussed EBM. Heavy-weights Antoni Maiovvi, Franz Scala and Donald Dust provide the remixes.
Our choice fell on Bristol born, yet Berlin resident, Giallo Disco imprint owner - Antoni Maiovvi who takes original No No and woven from it a bizarre mixture of paranoid synthesizers and post-apocalyptic romanticism structured remix, perfect weapon for last hours on dance floors, whenever you will have an access to it again.

PREMIERE #2116 | Technobeton - No No (Antoni Maiovvi Remix) [Italo Moderni] 2020

Following his appearance on Soil Records' second anniversary commemorative album, Rambal Cochet earned himself a special place on the label. His style makes him unique, the repeated tonal use of the harmonic minor scale is perhaps the most characteristic of this artist, with a musicality in his works that recall an early stage of Goa, situated long before moving to the force and energy of psy - trance.

His return this time is solo and he does it starring in the tenth reference on vinyl with UFO Researcher, an EP that he releases with 3 original tracks and 2 versions by Cute Heels and Pablo Bozzi. The homonymous track opens side A with an imposing bass and a rhythm that doubles its tempo as if it were IDM, but this is just the foundation of a much more complex sounding structure in which the melodies are crossed by different ranges of frequencies. . Paco Resist is the second track on side A, a cut with the standardized metric of techno but with a great groove originating from the bass line and with arpeggiated melodic elements. The Cute Heels version is more direct than the original track, its rhythm is more marked, direct and less expansive.

Side B opens with Tatra Tropicana, a track with a different sound from the rest, set in a scenario more typical of Synthwave and although this time the musicality is simpler because there are few tonal variations, Rambal Cochet's predilection for the minor hues. The version of Tatra Tropicana by Pablo Bozzi closes the EP. the remix is ​​much more energetic and its sound variations take on an acid tinge.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track by Lokier on AREA Z.  The Mexican artist built her identity around Techno, EBM, Industrial and Electro combined with Trance, New Wave and its varieties. Today we premiere “Inside Lies” that comes off the new EP “Uncanny Valleys”, a compilation that features great EBM-Techno artists such as SARIN, Imperial Black Unit, IV Horsemen, Velvet May, Incendie, Chrome Corpse, Unconscious, Celldöd, Chainbreakers and Teatre. 

This compilation series is related to the theory introduced by Japanese robotitian Mori Masahiro back in 1970, referring to the paradoxical perception of the existing similarities between a robot and human beings.

The sun burnt down upon his back as he looked out upon the open abyss and lifted his shovel. He knew not how deep or far he must go to dig himself free from this unholy mess, perhaps it was time to get started. 

Sutja has been a friend of Ransom Note for many years, a writer and a creative he has graced our humble webpages on many an occasion. His music career has grown in prominence more recently, however his latest release, an album on Lumiere Noire is perhaps his greatest achievement thus far.
