It’s been a stacked year of strong releases from Moments In Time. Based in Manchester, it has shown its commitment to signing new exciting local talent, as well as those more established names, with artists including Hadone and Blicz.
For the last release of the year, Rudosa welcomes Irish talent Alt8 with a heart racing 4 track release, including a remix from the label boss himself.

Evan, aka Alt8 has had successful releases with a collaboration track on Kneaded Pains, Sara Landry remixing his track ‘Transcend’ on T-Minus Records and most recently a standout remix for Rebekah on her Elements Records imprint. His sets blend dark and gritty techno with industrial drums and early 90s rave influences.

Opening with the title track, ‘Hope In Darkness’ explosive industrial beats pound the senses from the off. Gargantuan reese bass and a catchy melodic hook mid-way make for a powerful peak time cut.

Valhalla Calling’ powers forward with tough drums and scattergun percussions before dropping into a haunting melodic hook. Eerie sub-harmonics and a gnarly bass in the break add drama before the beat drops and carnage ensues. On remix duties, Rudosa does his best to dirty up the beats and adds an even more twisted hook for the ultimate e-moment.

Finally, ‘Concrete Walls’ sees Mr Marshall flex his funky techno muscles. Vocal asides syncopate against icy stabs and a rumbling industrial beat. Thin moody pads provide the perfect melodic juxtaposition as the dancefloor reaches fever pitch.

PREMIERE: Brulée - Il Ne Reste Que Le Néant [CRV002]

The 90’s rave scene embodied a sense of freedom, defiance, energy, and diversity. Konvic’s track, ‘Dove Days’ celebrated that with a hard techno edge and spoken vocals by DeepDownDirty label boss and founder Maya Stone.

Fast forward seven years from the release of ‘Dove Days’ (and as DeepDownDirty fast approaches its tenth year of existence) and Konvic has put together a full album’s worth of eclectic new music to complement the original track, bringing it bang up-to-date with hiphop-edged techno in ‘Escape Key’ featuring Melee; a drum and bass duo of tracks in ‘We Need Love' & ‘Aura’, which both feature TiaSun; and 'Gaia’, with its hard neuro-influenced riff.

Amongst the techno you can also find the bouncy ‘Moroccon Nights’, with its North African-influenced vibe; an acid techno collaboration with Alf E James, ‘Rhythm is in my Mind’; the pulsating groove of ‘Dance’, the third track to feature TiaSun; the vibrant chords of ‘Keep Walking By’; the underground feel of ‘Exit Light'; and the subversive ‘Don’t Be Afraid’, a collaboration with Coqui.

This is music that celebrates the liberating, hedonistic 90’s rave scene with a futuristic edge. Its euphoric, rebellious and wild. It embodies great dance music in its all its glorious variety across the eleven tracks. As Maya says on ‘Dove Days’, “It didn’t matter who you were or what you did, we were united by the music,”.

'Dove Days’ the LP stands as a reminder and testament of how true that still is.
