Bolognas' based Maple Death Records presents its second LP named "LP2" by the Italian/Swedish/Greek duo of Annalisa Iembo and Stella Mathioudakis. This LP was recorded over a period of 5 days locked in a small room in the Italian flatlands and then further developed and refined between Italy-Sweden during the pandemic. 

‘DRBS’ is a parallel party where the better parts of Kraftwerkian Detroit techno are sped up and spit out with shards of noise and cowbell action.

Le Crabe - Amour Unilatéral

Tendril is a sonic landscape, its formations are taking the shape of a constantly rearranging mechanical organism. The Hungarian label Exiles is recording this first meeting of the two musicians on an album that was recorded in the course of two sessions held in the slums of Budapest's 8th district.

Adam Czitrom has been recognized as one of the more versatile and sought after guitar voices of his generation on the Budapest underground and experimental scene. Growing up in Israel, he began his musical training early in his adolescence. Since living in Hungary he worked on countless projects both as a sideman and a bandleader with a repertoire ranging from rock through jazz to contemporary improvisation. In 2008 he received a scholarship to pursue a degree in jazz composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston. As a composer he has been often engaged in writing and producing film scores and theater music. The present material captures a new creative venture on his part into electronic music.

OOO aka Márton Csernovszky may be familiar from bands like Deus Ex, Osaka Crack, Drť, Sickpicknic, MORDÁI, Kinetic Erotic and the late Best Bad Trip. As an experienced jazz musician and multi-instrumentalist Csernovszky playfully mixes his acoustic samples with metallic sounds of modular synths, scored music for contemporary dance performances, but we have also could hear an homage to Górecki infused with gloomy ambient techno on his debut album (Sírversek I-VI, 2019).

The second installment of Mecanica Records' compilations is focused on obscure techno/EBM/electro. A selection of new and unreleased tracks by six projects from different latitudes. 

The opening track is a collaboration between Dmitry Distant (Latvia) and Gestalt (Russia) with a dark electro tune that works perfect as warm-up. Deep Pill (USA) offers a versatile technoid tune and Blac Kolor (Germany) closes the A side with a hard and hypnotic piece. Viktor Kalima (Finland) opens the B side with a body music attack, followed by Santiago (USA) with four minutes of pure psychosis and dementia, and Rendered, the duo formed by Daniel Myer (Germany) and Clément Perez (France), closes this sonic trip with a strong and massive cut that will leave you attached to a never ending loop in your head.

Limited edition of 350 copies on black vinyl with transparent Priplak jacket.

After 5 years of 'Fortnightly Freebies' columns collating our favourite free downloads, we decided to do things a bit differently for the 100th chapter. Introducing 'Big Material', a 19-track 'name your price' compilation that will donate 100% of profits made to Stonewall Housing, a London-based charity supporting some of the most marginalised and vulnerable in our society.

At a time when unfair austerity is increasing inequality and leaving so many behind, we hope to support a community that has given so much to the 'scene' and music we love. Digi-dub abstractions and drifting ambient to kaleidoscopic breaks and newly-coined genre, 'subtle donk', it's a pretty accurate microcosm of the If-Only curation as a whole.
