A true veteran of Madrid’s fabled electronic scene, Roberto Gemelín takes the reins for local imprint Trauma Collective’s sixth missive. Known for releases since the late ‘90s on labels as diverse as Minifunk, Nehoma, Warm Up, and his own imprint Brainwaves, he returns with the first vinyl release under the Groof alias in 10 years - the Staca EP.

Whether its the industrial-grade broken beats of opener “Take A Break”, or the subterranean snarl of “Command” with its ominous swells underpinned by visceral kicks (perfect for those-heads-down moments) - the A side already showcases the diversity within Gemelín’s sonic repertoire. Over on the flip, he continues his onslaught with the functional and hypnotic title track and continues with the mind game of “Stay Puft”, awash in searing synth textures and mechanised rhythms. Finally "Crash!" slams you against the wall, right from the first beat, on this with this vehemently bruising techno workout.

Based out of Leipzig, Germany, the newly established 2022 techno label releases their digital and 12” vinyl album 'Are We on the Run?' with 5 hypnotically-deep tracks. 

The 2-sided album features PRG/M (aka Pier Mariconda) on side A1 with his dark flare of ambient sounds using immersive pads, and deconstructed rhythmics that is subdued. 

Side A2 also features a remix of “And This Is the Well” from none other Mod21 (aka Manuele Chiaravallot) where his remix gives the effect of a synthesized-sounding groan tube combined with varying degrees of basslines - all of which is ambient in nature.

Korean producer Soolee's second full-length album, Void Time Axis, is a mix of arrangements designed for effective repetition and change, polyrhythmic grooves composed of various rhythms in parallel, earworm synths, and deeply refined ambient sounds.

The eight tracks are represented by letters with different meanings. 시(Si) 始 Start, 대(Dae) 對 Treat, 감(Gam) 堪 Endure, 정(Jung) 正 Right, 류(Ryu) 流 Flow, 인(Inn) 忍 Patience, 극(Geuk) 極 Extreme, 공(Gong) 空 Void. And these letters are arranged to form a story.

Void Time Axis, completed as a single image by removing the time axis from the entire story, is an album of original sound expressed with the identity of a Korean techno producer.

Coldgeist’s music on Unknown Bodies is an intimate reinterpretation of coldwave, techno and dark ambient codes, uttered with strength, guts, and an underlying romantic soul. 
Inspired by nocturnal runs of “bōsōzoku” bikers clans, who stem from this japanese subculture of the late seventies ; Coldgeist has created a series of soundscapes and songs that evoke speeding through foggy nights and fluorescent lights. Haunting repetitions and stiffness of the rhythms as a metaphor of mechanical gestures, of bodies turned into units of consumption, stranded from the life and passion they crave. The frustration of a youth that only finds relief in extreme experiences, danger, and the sexual tension of speed and crashes. 
With analog and digital instruments, field recordings but also his own voice and songs, Coldgeist has bred a truly unique record.

Exium can be considered with no doubt pioneers in the spanish techno scene, almost two decades of devotion, passion and work on behalf of what we know as serious and militant music. In their vast career the have released countless vinyls in labels from all over the globe and have spreaded their live sets throught the most respected clubs and festivals all over the place. 

They decide what their pulsations are, can be minimalistic, complex, broken, layered or tooly and precisely, this is the case in this four tracker.

Noncellular life opens fire, and obsessive effected synth line lies over a profound kick and is slowly filled with percussive layers, drums comes in and out while the main hook persists and changes in timbre and texture. A genuine mixing tool. 

Inner mind relies on reverberated toms and sharp percussive elements with the only aid of occasional white noise sweeps, as always a dynamic arrangement made things busy.

On the flip side Inmune response is based on a linear raw sequence soon followed by distorted semi industrial layers while Host range gives us the broken beat dose that they master since ages. Over the complex beats succesive washes and drones fly over, evoquing darkness and pressure.

No jokes in this slice of plastic, aimed for the proper selectors out there.
