Next up on BPitch sublabel UFOInc. is an essential linkup from two rising Berlin-based talents, Linn Elisabet and Stina Francina.
Bringing with them two distinct approaches to music production but a shared vision of techno’s weirder corners, Linn and Stina go all in on their first joint release together, fusing sonic abstractions into a release that never loses sight of the club.

With a classically trained musical background, Linn explores reverberant soundscapes and complex arrangements with a learned ear, but a firm rejection of the rigid forms that often taint formal musicality. 
Promoting a sense of non-compliance in their sonic palettes, they offer a contemporary and transgressive interpretation of techno that strives to reimagine reality and desire.

Having fostered her passion for electronic music in intimate, underground spaces, Stina’s approach to production is rooted firmly in affect; carefully weaving fragile emotional narratives with a generous sensitivity. 
With a particular penchant for old school trance, her sound is often coloured by a feeling of melancholy and hope.

EV-EN is a club-oriented music project by the Italian visual and sound artist Alex Ortiga (aka SY/IN, founder of H-4/HIDE Productions and Delusions). EV-EN's approach to techno is characterized by a variety of musical influences drawn from both his past productions and his own personal tastes. His sounds try to be both dark and intimate, in a constant tense coexistence between fast industrial kicks, sharp and digital sounds and melancholy, hypnotic and heartbreaking melodic lines. His debut EP "As the Sun Through Black Clouds" was released on Delusions in February 2022.

Since 2019, the Manchester based label, Moments in Time, has had many strong releases, showcasing their commitment to signing upcoming local talent, as well as those more established names. Our third release for the year is from talented Irish techno artist and Amsterdam based, DECADANCE, and it includes a remix from none other than Parralx!

The lead track, “Saoirse”, explores the duality of tribalism and conflict through three fast paced, percussively intense techno tracks. The track conceptually seeks to symbolise violence, emotion and peace. Beginning relatively peacefully yet characterised by a tense atmosphere, the intensity capitulates through violent drums before morbid synths set the emotional and melancholic tone.

“Ehyah” juxtaposes primitive, tribal percussion with the familiar sound of a viral, modern day trap vocal. The specific sound sampled, was taken from a track which DECADANCE discovered through Soundcloud’s algorithm, which automatically plays viral music every time an artist’s privated track finishes. Tribal rhythms have evolved from our inception and the emergence of AI and “the algorithm” has intercepted how we engage with what was once a pure and primitive experience of sound. Ehyah, represents this conflict. Whilst Parallx follows up with a stripped back remix masterpiece.

“Death of Connla”, confines within the EP’s concept of tribalism and conflict, yet remains simple in its execution. Made immediately after DECADANCE, briefly returning to his home in rural Ireland, the lead is taken from sampling the Celtic Carnyx. The track essentially imagines the tale of Cú Chulainn murdering his own son Connla in battle and seeks to befit the soundtrack to one of Ireland’s many mythological stories.

Two years after her debut on SPFDJ’s Intrepid Skin, Valerie Ace is already counted as a quickly rising voice in techno, her work featuring on Anetha's Mama Told Ya, Mála Ádh, Haven, and more. In 2023 she founded her own Hardwon imprint, now on its 8th release and featuring established and upcoming names like Ryan James Ford, WTCHCRFT, and others. Now Rant & Rave offers her third vinyl full EP, Givers & Takers, confirming her premier place in contemporary techno. The title track starts ominous, pensively drawing tension over a slow breakbeat as busy percussion patterns interlock, leading into its intense second half, where heavy bass doubles down and pushes to a bruising climax. ‘Eat Dirt’ takes after its title, grinding faces into grit as it switches between breaks and straight sections while pounding the floor into submission. ‘A Moment Lost’ loses no time charging out of the gates, ratcheting tension with quickly evolving snares, the filtered bass punches driving the track over steadier, atmospheric background sounds. The afternoon or afterhours vibe of ‘3PM’ is accentuated by seasick synth layers contrasted against malignant drums, unsure if the drugs are wearing off or kicking back in for another trip.

Driven by the complexities of love, SALOME’s latest release, «HACKER,» on HERRENSAUNA label, is a sonic explosion of vulnerability. The five-track EP features three original productions by SALOME and two remixes by Manni Dee and Umwelt, ready to short-circuit your system.

SALOME masterfully blends delicate melodies with thunderous breakbeats, mirroring the tumultuous nature of love. «Hacker» (A1) pulsates with the mantra «You hacked my mind,» a stark reminder that falling head over heels often means surrendering control. «Romance Malfunction» (A2) paints a vivid picture of the exhilarating highs and crashing lows of a rollercoaster relationship, ultimately leading to the introspective «Love Leaked» (A3).
Seeking diverse interpretations, SALOME enlisted two of her most admired artists, Manni Dee (B1) and Umwelt (B2), to deliver their unique takes on «Hacker,» further enriching the emotional landscape of the eponymous EP.
