Young gun and Oslo-based DJ/producer, Nattl4mpe makes his Mhost Likely Black debut with a fast-paced, rave ready, hardcore-techno killer. 'Nejjjj' delves deep into his core sound and influences, with jungle breaks alongside trancy grooves. The single is accompanied by three stomping remixes made by TRUSSEL, SYNK and Minus Magnus.

'Nejjjj' is a tour de force track that glides between percussive breaks, 4/4 kicks, techno with an old skool sound and 90s euphoric trance. 100% warehouse body music. Oslo-based producer duo, SYNK, follows up with a darker workout - hefty breaky techno drenched in acid and grimy sound effects.

On the flip - Minus Magnus comes through with an electro, Detroit meets Chicago in a basement, rework. True machine funk spirit with acid all night. Lastly, the TRUSSEL remix is a chunky version, irresistible doof doof, industrial deepness combined with ethereal chimes - one for the post lockdown parties.

After getting out of prison in late 2020 he chose to focus less on djing and more on producing, and started a new label called Radiance with a fellow dog. The dog on acid is currently a ghost, not alive but not dead either. It is a weird dog for sure.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track by Ping Pong, an Italian duo formed by Andrea Renzini & Stefano Passini. They present their new album on Raw Culture, presenting a fusion of experimental sonic explorations, kraut rock, electronic disco matrix and beyond. 

Starting from the sampling of Korean ping pong matches and the voices of the speakers, Renzini and Passini build a framework where the sound or voice of the electronically harmonised hoover amalgamates with powerful and syncopated drumming, a sound experiment poised between improvisational heavy jazz and Korean-style electronics. The release also includes collaborations with other musicians from Bologna's historic rock scene such as Gianluca Patini (Surprize, Slava Trudu, Volkwerk Folletto) on guitars, Giorgio Lavagna on vocals (Gaznevada, Stupid Set) and Enrico Serotti on electronic samples (Confusional Quartet, Stupid Set).

Throughout the last couple of years, Medellín, Colombia's second largest city, has slowly been emerging a unique handful of producers shaped by the city's mystic mountains. Born and raised in the middle of one of the world's most renowned hostile environments, these sonic hustlers have found the perfect ingredients to cook some of the most solid and intriguing electronic music in the current South American landscape.

This can clearly be proved in Medellín Rave Society, the fourth assault from Colombian label Insurgentes. On its first VA EP, Verraco and Defuse gathers some of the city's most defiant artists, for an open techno letter directly delivered from the Aburrá Valley. A-side is pure sci-fi from the mountain, with local heavyweight Merino's "Ode To You" leading you deep in a forest where hissing hi-hats, broken beats and warmful chords give life to a vivid soundscape; while Black Propaganda's "I'm My Biggest Enemy" doesn't hesitate in creating a feeling of altered consciousness, where modular electric shocks throw yourself in an inner machine state of mind. 

On the other hand, B-side offers straight redemption. The Baker's aka Astronomical Telegram "Of Gold And Bitter Bread" brings back the serenity, with sharp textures that slowly rebuild the lost spirit, allowing label head Verraco to open the celestial gate with "Entry Of The Gods Into Aburrá", a raw IDM breakbeat piece that heals the wounds of a beaten city and marks the beginning of a new chapter in colombian electronic music scene.

Medellín sonic insurgency at it's best.

Switching within digital binaries, analogue flux, and all forms of degradation in between, a creature is kickstarted to life, as if awoken with locomotion's full might. Helena Hauff delivers a mix for Tresor's Kern series, lashing together a sound world with a potent barrage of industrial dance music.

Scorched-earth missives attract metals and mining chemicals, leaving little in its wake but aggravated and chaotic experiments of lateral hypotheses in acid brine. Like a hyperloop through this labyrinth, this high-velocity future is both beautiful and evil, glinting embers through low-bit fogged-out clusters. 100 metre-high aluminium pylons vibrate, each captivated by their electrified foundations. There is no place for dust to settle on the floor. Where a loose TB-tribalism knocks switches and pounds upward synaptic shocks, life down there is too rapid. Not to be taken lying down, this is the viable path forward without the shackles of turgid passivity. The effect is no less thrilling than crucial, as it presents an essential DJ of our times.

Settling into swift 150bpm groove, Hauff ploughs through shepherd-tone electro, ghetto bumps, and grizzled techno. A new collaborative track with Morah plays a rough game of meter, with Hauff's signature sound clear as ever ripping apart new dimensions with a brutal disorder over deceptive bass synths. The visceral crunch of the present is no more clear than at the halfway point, a threshold in which the breakneck electro falls apart, with the rabid foam of Nasenbluten's ballsy gabber anthem Intellectual Killer. Slowly more room to breathe comes into view, the pace drawn down revealing a strange sense of resolution, with expansive synths hinting at a beckoning euphoria. At this moment, Helena Hauff is clearly in full stride, uniquely melding fragile machinations against anarchic human interventions.

Kern Vol.5 releases June 19th 2020, on 2CD, 3×12″ and digital.
