Hailing from three different countries, The Candidates formed in early 2016 and took up residence in their Berlin studio to start working on their debut EP which is to be released in Spring 2018.

Bringing together the spiritual lyrics and contemporary-classical hybrid technique of singer Dan Simmons, the grooving, vintage rock-driven lines of bassist Thanos Karakantas, the lush, intricate rhythms of guitarist Julius Bachmann, and held together by the pulsating beats of drummer Robin Ketterer, a rich texture of rock, jazz and world music emerges.

From the heavy “Addiction” with its Hendrix-style guitars to afro-rhythms in “Strange Encounters” to the epic musical journey of “Leben Im Jetzt”, the stylistic range reflects the band’s influences from Greece, the UK, Germany, and further afield.
