I love December 
It's so cold, 
another year
I guess I'm getting old

In December I see more
All those things now at the stores
Things I thought I might have wanted
Never had, and now don't care
They could have made me happy
But I don't know, time passed
It might be me
I wasn't there

I can't get into the mood
My mind has other thoughts
I cannot find the room
Things I wish I had forgot

I worry about stuff
I read the news, play old songs
No jingle bells, I hear reindeer are dying
and I am sick of trying

These thought pass through my head
I cannot do it
I love December

People's smiles I don't believe
I have nothing I can give
Rushing and shoving at the stores
Out of time, need one thing more

Packages late, 
from vendors that I hate
Spending money I don't have
And I can't afford a cab

Buying things nobody wants
For kids who will ignore them
Disappointed and so bored
Always wanted something more

And friends I would forget
And doing things I will regret
And me in a blue funk
People asking if I'm drunk

I think I have the flu
Won't be there, I'm not able
Or may hide under the table
But, yes, I love December
