On Nov 12th, The Chambers Project opened its doors to the new gallery space in Grass Valley, CA, with the One Step Further event. 

If there was ever a seminal moment in the history of psychedelic art, “One Step Further” – the inaugural group show at the new The Chambers Project space – was it. On November 12th, the gallery became and is a professional and serious refuge, a sanctuary of credibility for New Psychedelia in a chaotic art world.

DJ's/Producers Qbert, The Gaslamp Killer, DJ Logic and A Path Untold provided the soundtrack to this landmark event. These mixes were recorded live and capture the spirit of the night. We're very excited to share them with world. 

In addition, this was the official 50 year commemorative  anniversary event of Hunter S. Thompson's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas  book release. 

Curator Brian Chambers has firmly staked his claim in the history of the genre by showing treasures from early rock music and psychedelic art: rare paintings by rock gods Jerry Garcia, and Jimi Hendrix, and original works by genius Fillmore poster designer Rick Griffin. Spectacular canvases from contemporary artists will immerse spectators in visionary landscapes of tumbling colors and shapes, toppling through space and, at times, spilling from the frames.

This was a night to remember.

Hello, bathtub crew. We had some existential plumbing issues to attend to over the last year, but we’re back. This month, we welcome Jack Ryan (Ryan Baker), a multi-faceted electronic music enthusiast based in Calgary, AB.

In addition to production and DJing, Jack is heavily involved in Calgary's electronic scene, throwing one-offs and underground event series with various collaborators in unexpected venues with an aim to help diversify night culture in the city.  Previous and current collaborations include excursions.fm, a project aiming to connect forward-thinking artists and adventurous listeners across Canada through carefully curated podcasts, as well as Clubhaus, a late-night underground club series that will be returning to Calgary this fall. 

Aside from being an impeccable selector with an ear for unique grooves, Jack is also a compulsive vinyl collector, sourcing new and exploratory sounds from record shops around the world. This combination of skill, preferred medium, and eclecticism is definitely present in this mix — If you’ve been looking to take your brain off-world for a bit, this one’s for you.
