Meg Ward has spent years formulating a special relationship with underground culture in the North of the UK and was appointed one of BBC Music’s ‘Tips For 21’ in the North East. Ward has carved her own distinct path through energetic sets tied beautifully together by love and passion; It’s on the dancefloor where her taste and musical schooling took place and that same schooling has fed into her dynamic, rich and jubilant productions.

Meg’s releases on labels NeedWant, Clipp.Art & a remix on Patrick Topping’s imprint Trick have been doing the business around the globe, and she now brings her radiant ‘Connections’ EP to important UK imprint Distant Horizons.

The result is as a record which brings together the best elements of club and house, evoking a sense of freedom and expression through uplifting synths and body shaking bass lines. Opening track ‘Have Your Love’ makes full use of Kariya’s original vocal, a balanced mix of old and new culminating in a fresh and inspired club ready cut. Meg then turns her head to laden kick-drums and melancholy induced pads, their tension released by the introduction of coiling arps. The A side comes to a close with ‘Connections’ a functional, yet ethereal track that seems to be signaling to something more.

The B side opens with ‘Rupture the Rhythm’ starting with breaks and sirens, acting as a signal calling all ravers to the dancefloor before the place erupts with the help of a 4/4 kick-drum and an active bassline. ‘TekHerGucci’ keeps the floor moving with laseresque synths and glossy vocals. ‘Cosmic Heat’ sees us out, the perfect end to a thrilling journey through the eyes of one of electronic music's most promising artists.

Andres Klein alias Ackermann hails from beautiful Stuttgart and has been in the music producing biz for about 20 years. He's been running is own imprint Traktor records for a long time, churning out House, Techhouse, Techno and anything in between.
His tune „I Got My Man“ got remixed by italian Mattia Borriello aka M.I.T.A. for Marco Faraone's Uncage label. This tune got heavy play by quite a few A-list Techno DJs around the globe, one of them Answer Code Request who couldn't stop dropping that diva drama belter in his sets in „The Big House“ in East Berlin.
That's where it caught All That Jelly label head Mr. Fonk's ear and so it had to get pressed on hot waxxx!
The 12“ is accompanied by two equally cheerful Techno slammers with a groovy House edge. You're gonna love 'em!

Ackermann - House Your Body

To get you in the mood for Lost Village's antics this week, Taylor Taylor has stepped up with a mix that encapsulates the daytime vibe of the festivals treasured stage. Think house, disco and plenty of rhythmic beats.

Here’s what he said when asked about the mix:

'Happy Lost Village week to all who celebrate! Since it's inception in 2015, the Lincoln-based woodland paradise has earnt itself landmark status in UK festival culture. Lost Village arguably leads the way in the cornerstone of a festival, with it exceeding it's requirements in stage design, lineup curation, food, location, cars you can dance in (!), etc. In my opinion, the festivals success in the last 5 years has encouraged the rest of the circuit to up their game, and is arguably a focal point of this belle époque of dance music we find ourselves living in. 

My mix is inspired by the Junkyard's famed early 3 hour sets, usually occurring between the hours of two and five pm. I'm a slave to a good festival warm-up set, and the Junkyard's start-of-the-day-specials, usually covering an array of hip-hop, breakdance, disco, new-wave, are nothing short of the perfect way to start your Lost Village day. I suppose the mix is a result of being wow'd by the likes of Brad Zero, CC:Disco, Folamour, HAAi, Romy in yesteryears, and is kind-of like the last hour you'd hear in that 3 hour set? Anyway I hope you enjoy it and it serves as some excitement for what looms, but more importantly, I hope anyone making the hike on Thursday has the best time of their lives! I, unfortunately after 3 consecutive editions, am a whole time zone away this weekend, and thus my jealousy is set to consume me over the coming few days.'
