[Behind The Track]

Welcome to the fifty-ninth release of Launch Records. This time we've got a new track by Simper, called ‘Driftwood’.

The song starts immediately with a melody. This melody is the same as the melody which will be used in the drop. After a while, a second melody line is added followed by some background atmospheric sounds and a vocal. This second melody has the main attention between the two melodies. In the background, you hear some subtle chords playing. As soon as the vocal and the second melody stops, the build-up starts. Hereby you only hear the first melody.

When the drop hits, the track is transforming into a chill house track. In this drop, there are two melodies. The first melody remains to play in the background. The second melody has the main attention and is added to the drop at the end of the first melody in a really calm rhythm. To give more variation to the drop more instruments, like background chords and a baseline, are added to the drop after a while. On top of that, a kick is added with a calm rhythm as well. Inside this drop, you hear really the beauty of all instruments. Not many instruments are added but they are perfect in harmony. Simper managed to create a calm track that will be stuck in your head. Hereby all sounds which are used are self-designed.

All these aspects which are used in the track make the track a real Launch release. This track is something different than we release normally. But this track is so well designed and perfectly in balance, we couldn’t resist signing it. We are very happy to have a release together with Simper who has created his own style which is really original.
