BET Hip Hop Awards

To our family: To be black is to be beautiful, to be powerful, and to be called upon. Now more than ever, we must stand together. We are living in a modern day civil rights movement. Given the racist culture that resides within AU, Mizzou, other college campuses, and all across the nation, it is our obligation to stand strong and eradicate this systematic oppression. Our mission can only be accomplished through bravery, persistence, vision, and unity. Only in unity can we rise to glory. 
As lovers of music, we are strong believers that music is a vital part of the movement. We are connected through the music that tells our rich history, embodies our beauty, and voices our ongoing struggle. Our ancestors have left us with the blueprint to break the chains of oppression. Now, we must follow in their footsteps and assure victory in this fight against injustice.
For the love of black life and for the love of music, we, the DJs of The Cool Out, stand with the black students of the University of Missouri, the black students of American University, and everyone who continues to fight for the freedom of black lives. Stay strong and be blessed.
