What I Did With My Music Degree

So the band Ruins has a track on their album Pallaschtom which is a medley of a bunch of riffs from different progressive rock songs played in short succession. I went ahead and took clips from the original tracks and assembled this based on that track. For some reason I decided to add a bunch of normalization/compression/something to the end result (it's been two years so I don't remember that well), presumably to get the different clips to be at more or less equal volume, but now it sounds terrible & distorted.
