THE COSMIC PUPPETS are a progressive pop/rock band, formed in 2004 in the Scottish city of Dundee. The band is composed of graduates of Perth Music College who have since scattered across the United Kingdom. Artistic director, primary songwriter, keyboardist and vocalist Tony HALSALL and Bassist, Guitarist and Engineer Alexander STEWART perform much of the recording for the band over the internet. When the need arises, they will travel the distances to work live with each other and with the other members of the band, guitarist Liam BLAIR and drummer David MACLEOD.

THE COSMIC PUPPETS are establishing a style and methodology designed to work outside the constraints of contemporary popular music, along with its associated industries. The band retains a strong independence driven by their passion for the music and a strong desire to truly connect with their audience.

The band draws their influences from a variety of genres including popular music, rock, classical, jazz and film music. The music is varied and complex, often incorporating concepts such as odd or shifting meters, polyrhythms, syncopation and jazz-harmony into an exploratory style of their own.

THE COSMIC PUPPETS first album, "Beauty in the Strangest" succeeds in their objective to create music that is original and unique. Fans of modern Crossover Prog with a jazzier side such as 3RDEGREE may enjoy THE COSMIC PUPPETS.
