Here's my live Hard Trance / Hard House closing set from the BabyBox at Ministry of Sound, for the Trance Sanctuary Meets Peach NYD party 2024. What a party it was, and such privilege to be part of such a star studded line up! Everyone was proper up for it and it was so much fun to follow on from Miles Gorphy's set which also tore up the room. Happy New Year in 2024 folks, I hope you enjoy this set as much as I did playing it!

Custard Live From Trance Sanctuary Meets Peach NYD 2024

I'm excited to present my HarderFaster Christmas Party 2024 warm up set, what a cracking party that was, all for a good cause! Which raised a whopping £1900 for Nordoff & Robbins music therapy charity!

I recorded this just after the party and what a party it was! It starts off as a blend of progressive house, trance and melodic techno, steadily building up to a heady mix of progressive uplifting trance. Which filled the room up ready for getting everyone in the mood for an who's who line-up of Trance, Hard Trance/House and Techno DJs, with an incredible dance floor full of up-for-it party people. You all rocked! It was a real privilege to be invited to be on this line-up, and play once again for the HarderFaster crew, thanks for having me!

HarderFaster Xmas Party 2024 Warm Up Set

John 00 Fleming recently curated a top 20 alternative Trance chart for 2024 on Beatport. He mentioned on his page that it would be great if someone did a mix of the tracks in the chart that he could broadcast on his radio show as his guest mix, and got an amazing response. 

He put his favourite mixes entered into a playlist on his Soundcloud page and then he selected my mix to be played in the last hour on his radio show! What an honour! 

Here's the full length 1hr 40m mix with full track list below. Right from when I first started playing many moons ago, J00F's publicly open philosophy on DJing has been a big influence in the way I think about playing and putting music together, and no matter what time I'm scheduled to DJ how to read and play to a crowd. 

While my usual selection of music is often quite different to J00F's style, his influence is firmly embedded in my DJing psyche, and it has been a great honour to have the opportunity to put together a mix of tracks selected by one of my biggest idols in the trance scene.

J00F top 20 Trance Picks of 2024 - Full Set

I couldn't leave this one alone, I just had to get this mix down... Here's a duplicate of my debut set at Lost Dawn, it was such a privilege to warm up the main room for 16 Bit Lolittas and Wayout West! I had 45 mins to get the room going. The brief 'To get everyone's wiggle on' for the following band, and this was the result, 11 house tunes 'to get your wiggle on'... Lost Dawn Warm Up Mix

Wow what can I say, here's a re-record of my set from the Euphoria Weekender 2025 at Beachaven Malta. What a turn up for the books this was, when I jumped on the plane to Malta I never expected to be asked to play my first international gig, a full hard trance set on Thursday night!

This has to go down as one of my best DJing memories of all time. Special thanks to promoters Rick and Steve for making me feel like part of the gang the second we met at Zion on Wednesday, and giving me a 'proper' set on Thursday.

This party is the epitome of what trance is all about, amazing friendly party people, the camaraderie amongst all the DJs was second to none! The music was top quality beginning to end, everyone brought their A game. It was a real privilege to be a part of such a cracking 6 days in Malta. 

If you love trance this event is not to be missed!

Here's my live set from the 'Phase Three' after party in the Bunker at Rolling Stock, Shoreditch on 6th Sept 2025. Wow what a party, it's been a while since I've been asked to play a full tilt driving euphoric trance set and I enjoyed every second of it, this is truly where my heart is.

To get us in the mood for Planet Angel's 16th birthday party I thought I'd treat you all to a couple of my old mixes... To celebrate I've uploaded my original Meltdown Room warm up demo mix that got me my first ever set at Planet Angel in 2004. This mix is extra special as it coincides with today's party, I recorded and submitted this exactly 12 years ago alongside my main set demo which I will also upload today. Honestly this was a life changing period in my life where I met so many amazing friends and I have Planet Angel to thank for this. It's finally here... due to popular demand, I've made a re-record of my '140+ Room' classic hard trance/ hard house closing set from Trance Sanctuary's 4th Birthday Party at EGG in March 2015. 

This was soooo much fun, 9 tunes were crammed into 45 minutes, everyone was so up for it and the response was overwhelming, thank you! For your listening pleasure I've eeked this recording out to an epic 54 mins so you get the full extent of the tracks rather than a bunch of rushed mega-mixes plus you get the whole of the last tune, lol. I was asked to play the last set of the night in September 2008 and decided to give everyone a taste of my early days of clubbing at Strawberry Sundae back in the mid to late 90’s. On The Verge 2005 - Mayes & Sollis (Paul Mayes 'aka Custard' and James Sollis)

Here's a two and a half hour house mix, this should keep you all going for a while! Unfortunately I don't have a track list as this was mixed on the hoof with a load of my mate's tunes during an after party in the countryside, hence the name! Quite pleased considering I didn't have a clue how all the tunes went!!!! Mixed on a CDJ800 and an old Axis2 that the bulbs had blown on so couldn't read the LCD, lol.


Weekend in the Countryside

Custard is a DJ who mixes across the broad spectrum of house, trance & techno. From prog house, trance & techno, to house party bangers, through to alternative & uplifting trance, and up to the banging side hard trance/house and acid techno.

Past DJ residencies include Planet Angel, Boundless and Chilled in a Field Festival.

As a producer he is 1/3 of the Nexus 3 collaboration with the uplifting big room trance releases 'State of Wonder and 'Last Flight' on Discover Records, plus remix duty on Activa's 'Temper' on the To the Point remixed album. 

He's also 1/2 of the Payoff Brothers collaboration; making whatever bootlegs they fancy in any genre. Whether it's fixing a broken remix to make something that makes sense, remaking really old tracks to bring the production up-to-date to make them playable next to modern tracks, or making bootleg remixes that are begging to exist.
