Welcome friends to the inaugural edition of the FRUIT BOWL MIX series 🍒. To start things off we extended a sanitised hand to a formidable member of the Fruit Bowl family – the extraordinary, the inspiring, the gracious - DAME. 

Outside of her solo mends and blends @ddamee is one half of the powerhouse duo @heyhoneypoint

There was no brief, no rules and no restrictions for this mix. A subtle but conscious bit of respite from the current state of affairs. Pair those fancy bluetooth headphones or slam that jack into the closest music enabled hole and enjoy this hour of assortments from one of our nearest and dearest.

Mister Rodrigo is a producer and DJ hailing from the underground electronic scene in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Complimenting his most recent release 'Here 4 U' is a track called 'Babytalk' which is scheduled to release on Nervous records later this year. He hopes to popularise lesser known sub genres across South East Asia. This mix breeds a selection of energetic breaks, house and clubby notes with a hint of 90's nostalgia.

Saturday Sunset on FBi Radio — Mister Rodrigo (MYS)

Ryan Berkeley returns with a brand new release, "The Arp Ascending EP" in his signature stripped back and raw house style. 6 tracks that all started out as live jams and reworked into an collection of songs that flow through floating leads, deep bass, dubbed out influences and subtle vocals. Equal parts deep early morning energy and textured soundscapes.

'Goin' Deep' opens the EP with a Chicago infused house groove and soaring analogue leads. Keeping the energy at 100%, track 2 'Wise Groove' is a minimal roller with heavy low end, one for the smoke filled rooms and early morning enthusiasts.

'La Niña' boils down to vast soundscapes, a slow number showcasing Berkeley's dynamic side, reminiscent of some his earlier works.
'The Arp Ascending', the releases namesake song starts with heavy drums and epic arpeggiated synths, underneath a rolling bass-line that keeps things moving, all they way up and up, ending in an epic climax.

The EP dives down again into 'She Sells Sea Shells', a lush downtempo number with layers of blips and bloops weaving through strings and 808's. Rounding out the EP is the dubbed out finisher, 'Polish & Protect' with hypnotic stabs and FM leads, clocking in at an appropriate 4 minutes 20 seconds.
