Formed in the winter of lockdown 2020, two brothers originally from Norwich, but now 200 miles apart, start writing and producing music together over Zoom sessions.

Producer and Sound Engineer, Matt, is known on the live touring circuit as Richard Ashcroft’s monitor engineer. Met with a sudden hiatus of work, he buried himself in his home studio to revisit his love of song writing. Influenced by the likes of the Dessner brothers, this is where the story begins.

With the distinctive vocal and lyrics of the eldest brother Richie, his tones are reminiscent of Mark Hollis and James blunt. Inspired by the music, he set about recording remotely from his house in Warrington. This is the project that became The Daybreak. 

There is an optimism beneath the heartache that delivers a satisfying conclusion, a purity in their performance that invite you to connect and go on the journey that is The Daybreak
