Sann Odea welcomes NAKANO BLU to the label with his spectacular EP ‘Sentadona’. The Amsterdam-based producer means business and delivers four high-energy club tracks. 

After his early days of lo-fi house and dub techno, his practice moved into the sounds of IDM and diasporic-latin influenced club music. This evolution is evident in the title track, where the Spanish-born artist showcases his talent for blending unconventional rhythms, dark textures, and FX, all while maintaining a danceable and effective style for the club. On ‘Deconstructivisme,’ NAKANO collaborated with fellow Amsterdam-based producer Berman, resulting in a bass-driven journey featuring a catchy melody and an unexpected twist. As for ‘Broken Glass Inside My Shoes,’ the title speaks for itself. NAKANO’s experimental side takes the lead, crafting an eerie yet bold track with enough subs to shake your core. 

The EP concludes in style with ‘Ortiga’, where NAKANO switches to the evereffective 4x4 rhythm for the first time, showcasing his ability to contrast raw organic sounds with the synthetic nature of electronic club music.

After diversifying with the release of a couple of tapes over the last few years, BFDM’s little sis — Homemade Soundsystem — returns to what it knows what to do best: a two-track bass-heavy dancehall 7 inch. This one is courtesy of Parisian producer Krikor, who was already behind the outfit’s first release back in 2019. The well named Captivation Riddim starts off as a slow-but-rough compelling tune with haunting and trippy vocal samples creating an adequately driving mood. On the flip, Liberation Riddim is a percussive chopped-up party starter, ideal for changing gears with multiple BPM shifts and breaks throughout the track.

Recorded at Youth Space,  a day centre for kids excluded from secondary school in Stockton-Upon-Tees. The kids had a pile of Makina 12"s and asked me to DJ while they hammered the mic. I'd never played the records before, but as long as I played them near +8 everyone was buzzing.
