Above The Surface (TBMA Remix)

We are proud to present our first release as The Decorous - a cover of Mac Miller's "Self Care". Its release on 9/7/2020 is meant as a tribute to Mac who unfortunately passed away 2 years ago to the day, 9/7/2018, at the young age of 26. Way way wayyy too soon. 

Mac Miller has always been incredibly talented but, for us, his later material felt like he was breaking some new ground. It was genuinely surprising in how soulful it is and "Self Care" in particular struck a chord in a deep way, both on an emotional level and an artistic one. This cover retains the core identity of the song, of course, but we had to put our own spin on it. So when we do finally release our first original song in the months ahead, you can expect similar vibes to what you find here.
