The Detractions are what happens when four ex-punk rockers spend far to much time listening to Pet Sounds and Pinkerton, all while consuming as many B-horror films as possible. Fusing 50's surf reverb with the angular riffs of 60's garage rock, 70's punk snarl with alternative crunch and sometimes uncomfortably candid lyrics, the fizzy rock and roll of The Detractions is guaranteed to make you do the lucid shake all night long!

Formed in 2012, they have played with the likes of OBNOX, Har Mar Superstar, Teenage Bottlerocket and Miesha & The Spanks, and have played events such as the 2017 BIG Winter Classic, The Attainable Records Launch Party, Palloween (both 2015 and 2016), and the 2015 Beatroute Christmas Party.

After going through numerous lineup changes, things finally solidified when Shawn Savard (Random Task Collective, THEBOBBYHILLS) joined on bass in 2015 and Gus Rendell (The Blind Roots, Planned Bastard) got behind the drums in 2016, joining original members Nathan Iles and Jesse Gillett.
