Phantom Love

“Papillon” was written as a way to console a friend going through a difficult time in their life. The friend, who has a deep fascination with butterflies, was facing many battles in their health and personal life and felt like they were at the end of their rope. Inspired by the spiritual significance of butterflies, the song was crafted to let them know that someone is there for them, even when they feel the need to hide with their broken wings.

I wanted to capture the joy of those late-night talks with someone who truly understands you. It’s about those timeless moments when, despite knowing you’ve got a busy day ahead, you just don’t want the conversation to end. The song reflects the deep, unbreakable bond between two people, and through it, I aimed to express appreciation for that connection and the person who shares it with me.
