Crooked Line

A cover of "Not For You" by Pearl Jam from the last show at Rockwood Music Hall. I changed the lyrics around slightly and sung this rallying cry with Gaza in heart and mind, & for all the amazing protestors from all backgrounds taking it to the streets & social media all over the world, in whatever way they can in order to speak truth to power (400,000 strong in DC on 1/13/2024!), even if it means just having a conversation with a friend (or foe) about the issue and the humanitarian disaster playing out in front of us in Gaza and the West Bank; or in my case, taking it to the stage with my rock n' roll. Privileged I am, but when I sing Eddie Vedders' words, "This is not for you," I'm singing to the oppressor on behalf of the oppressed---our lives, our lands, our well being, our humanity, our faith, our bodies, our families, our livelihoods, our narratives, our water  are not for you to take, not for you to kill, not for you to steal, not for you to fuck with. And if any of those come to pass, as unfortunate as it is that they have over time, a harsh reckoning is in some way shape or form inevitable.

As Martin Luther King Jr. said, "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice."

Dal Lake

Din (Mubashir Mohi-ud-Din) is a singer/songwriter, film composer, and producer based in the Lower East Side of New York City. Born in Yorkshire, England, to parents who emigrated from the disputed territory of Kashmir, Din grew up in Maryland/DC before moving to New York. Now a solo artist, under DIN NYC, Din previously fronted bands Zerobridge and The Moors, where he also acted as principal songwriter. In both projects, Din worked with notable guitar players and producers Earl Slick (John Lennon, David Bowie) and JP Bowersock (The Strokes, Julian Casablancas, Ryan Adams and The Cardinals, Norah Jones). Din also composed the film score to the critically acclaimed and award winning feature film, “Valley of Saints,” set in Srinagar, Kashmir. His songs have also been featured in notable independent films including: "The Messenger" (2009); "Amira and Sam" (2015); and “The Light of the Moon” (2017).
