The Hedonist was inspired by the Oscar Wilde novel A Picture of Dorian Gray.  
The song uses employs haunting melodies and sinister rock guitar lines to create a Victorian gothic atmosphere as a backdrop to Wilde’s story.  
The Hedonist is typical of many songs by The Disconnected Bliss who are often inspired by macabre tales both real and fictional.

The Disconnected Bliss are a 3 piece band who enjoy the challenge of creating interesting music from the small palette of guitar, bass and drums.  The band are based in the small rural town of Athlone, Southern Ireland and consist of Bobby Hewitt (vocals/guitar), Eddie Carroll (drums), Ian Munt (vocals/bass).  Bobby and Eddie are from Athlone and Ian is originally from Reading, England.

Written, recorded and mixed in their home studio in Athlone,The Disconnected Bliss bring you their self titled debut EP.

The Athlone based band  which formed in the spring of 2010 consists of Bobby Hewitt (vocals/guitar), Eddie Carroll (drums), and Ian Munt (vocals/bass). The lads enjoy the challenge of creating interesting and unique music from the small palette of guitar, bass and drums and are not afraid to mix old with new and catchy with complicated .

The band's songs are a mix of social commentary inspired by life experiences and macabre invented stories which are anchored firmly by the band’s own unique and solid sound.
