Week 62 of BETAMAX invites producer, DJ and electro/techno enthusiast - Ben Worden aka FRANCOIS DILLINGER @fdbeardd

He glides between the two worlds of electro and techno. While he grew up an hour east of the Motor City, his musical roots were firmly planted in Detroit’s thriving late 90’s underground. His journey through the genres is dark while retaining a cerebral, dancefloor-oriented quality. This stems from the influences of Industrial, Detroit’s rich history of electro, minimal techno, and even Ghettotech. His Live & DJ sets lean heavily into the generation of hypnotic loops, creating long protracted mixes between elements to form an unshakeable tension.

He recently co-founded a new up-and-coming label, Infolines, managing their creative direction and operates the digital techno label, DONTDOIT, when he’s not focused on electro. The 2021 release calendar still holds two more LPs from DILLINGER – one via Specimen Records and the other a collab album with Cyphon & Obzerv via a new, TBA imprint.  Stay tuned for even more VAs and Eps as well as the launch of his new monthly show on Deep Space Radio coming in September.

The name Betamax stands for quality electronic music and analog warmth in micro/minimal/lo-fi/tech house/breakbeat and electro genres. The show itself is a mix series to represent groovy, funky, and rough sounds to show a more creative and experimental approach to dance music and @Play4n4.

Space, immersive sounds are evoked in M4M 19 by @3kal-droid-modul3 in an odyssey through the lands of the almighty electro.

DS de León, as he is also known, is a music and vinyl freak who has felt devoted to the scene since late 90s. Born and based in Madrid, he has played alongside national artists such as DJ Muerto aka Arkanoid or DJ Pepo.

Wavelet es el aka bajo el cual se esconde el DJ valenciano Mario Ortega.Este se caracteriza por ser un fiel defensor y activista del Electro en todas sus vertientes (teniendo este un especial interés en combinar este estilo con estilos como la IDM) así como del formato vinilo.
 
Su interés por la música electrónica comienza en la década de los 90’s influenciando por el sonido de sellos como Warp, Skam, Direct Beat o Electron Industries.  Posteriormente fueron sellos como Touchin`Bass, Ai Records o SCSI-AV los que fueron tallando su estilo como DJ hasta que en el año 2013 finalmente decidido dar el salto a los platos.

Su trayectoria siempre ha estado ligada en gran medida con el colectivo valenciano Hypnotica Colectiva (HC), siendo integrante de la plataforma radiofónica “Electronic Café Radio” durante tres años y organizado y siendo residente de las fiestas We Are The Robots (W.A.T.R) de HC desde el año 2014 hasta la actualidad. Por otra parte, destacar la organización del festival “ElectroCamp” junto con sus camaradas de Elektrodos, el cual se realizó en tierras valencianas durante dos ediciones, sirviendo este como punto de encuentro de muchos de los DJs/artistas de electro a lo largo de la geografía nacional.

Por otro lado, desde el año 2014, es habitual encontrarnos con Wavelet en las cabinas de algunos de los principales clubs de la ciudad de Valencia llevándole a este a compartir cartel con artistas de la talla como ADJ, Carl Finlow , Boris Divider o Umwelt entre otros.

Actualmente dirige junto con Sigma_Algebra el sello Tensor Norm, cuya segunda referencia en vinilo vera a luz a mediados de este año (ver bit.ly/3KImm3s para más información).

 Kim Cosmik started as a DJ for free party soundsystems Sprial Tribe and Bedlam and DJs at festivals and clubs all over the U.K and Europe. She was one of the first women to play at the ledgendary Knowledge club in London and has also played at the Miami music festival.
In 1993 Kim Cosmik formed her own label, Void Records with fellow band member Chantelle Platter in partnership with Hotmix / Bunker records in Holland where they released two singles then and were later signed to Matador / EMI releasing a further 3 singles. 
Kim Cosmik and Chantelle also created aliases, DJ Siren and Blaze, playing and releasing drum and bass with Spectrum Audio / Alphamagic and also had a track remixed by Dylan (Therapy Records).
Kim Cosmik has played with many amazing artists such as Lory D, Leo Anibaldi, Colin Dale, Serge Clone, Aleksi Perala, Andy Turner, B12, Radioactiveman, Jumping Jack Frost, Mickey Finn, Liberator, Syrte and many more. She has recently played at clubs such as Fold, Electroweks, The Glove That Fits and Iklecktic in London as well as About Blank in Berlin, Shambala Festival and many regular events in Hastings where she lives.
Kim Cosmik is currently a resident at Threads Radio, Aaja Radio and Techno Club Net online as well as her own event, Hybrid which she launched in 2019. 
Kim Cosmik releases music through her label, Cybersoul on Bandcamp as well as with a variety of labels such as Science Cult, 2020 Vision Recordings, Diffuse Reality, Touched Music, Section 27, Bass Agenda, Zwaartekracht and many more including a new album about to be released on vinyl by Reposition Records. Look out for many more events and releases in 2023!

Welcome to District - connecting arts!
District is a musical project founded in 2022 in Germany, initiated by the music manager and booker Ida R., together with the DJs Daniel Osthues and Sic Electronica. 
District is a musical plattform artist collective and agency and defines itself as a space - both a creative space, and a cultural space – focusing on the culture of electronic music, as well as the creativity of its members and devotees. 

Just like any other space, District has its standards. The standards of District are based upon quality, authenticity, passion and creativity.  With these standards in mind, District pursues only the true and dedicated protagonists of the many strands of electronic music: House, Techno, Electro, Acid „and the deeeeep stuff“.

Every country, every region and every city has its own culture, its own scene, its own cultural „District“. These include many common elements, as well as individual specialities, such as clubs, locations, promoters, labels, „local heroes“, renowned artists and of course the partygoers.
To all those out there, District wants to connect, to interact, to nurture, to share, to grow, to collaborate, to celebrate, and ultimately to establish an authentic music platform.
