Federation Sound, founded in 1999, is Max Glazer and Kenny Meez. Born out of a love of reggae and dancehall music, these two selectors have worked relentlessly to expand the boundaries of Jamaican and Caribbean music. Max Glazer has toured with Rihanna, Sean Paul, Chronixx and many more. Kenny Meez is a legendary remixer who has an uncanny ability for taking dancehall tunes and giving them the extra boost they needs to get the attention of international DJs. For this musical journey, Federation Sound has collaborated with California based Selecta 7, who played all of the instruments on the gritty Highland Riddim.

While we cherish and celebrate our talented crew from all points of the globe. We also appreciate those who represent our home camp of New York. A strange wilderness, our fair city is a place of different sounds, sights and experiences, all of which inspire creative ideas. Our Homegrown Edition brings to life that sonic exploration from those living right in our own backyard; giving them a chance to show us what they've got.

Our first up is like many New Yorkers, a transplant from a far away place. Paris born Sid Vaga has graced the decks of Cielo NY, Output, Chalet Club, and the BPM festival alongside the likes of Roy Davis JR, Dj Kaos, and Alex From Tokyo. He also joined the Cahoots Crew for our event at the Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival last November at Output. His knowledge behind the decks see's him playing styles from sultry deep to more percussive live tracks. With an eclectic array of styles in his collection and a knack for his work behind the decks, we welcome Sid Vaga to our campfire.

He called Kenny Meez to help make it happen and then called musical maestro, Steven “Lenky” Marsden to add his special touch to the project. Born and raised in Paris, France, Djeka began DJ'ing in his late teens after having played several musical instruments from a young age. He has been living in Brooklyn since 2008. The focus of his sets is on feel good music and positive vibes, reflecting the philosophy that music should bring people together through uplifting melodies and positive messages.
