"Hope" is the new single from eclecto-pop masters The Dowling Poole, released 24th of January, with an accompanying video.
The track features on The Dowling Poole's third album, "See You See Me", to be released 28th of February.

Following on from their previous releases “Bleak Strategies” in 2014 (described by Classic Rock Magazine as "One of the most gorgeously idiosyncratic records to emerge in years”) and “One Hyde Park” in 2016 (which Mojo said was “Full of buoyant, melodic swot-rock smarts”), their third album see’s the duo once again explore a multitude of contemporary themes, often dark, but balanced with bright and complex  arrangements, sun-drenched harmonies and instant hooks.

"Keeping The Stupid, Stupid” and “Made In Heaven” were released from the album as streaming singles in 2019, with new track “Hope” due for release on January 24th with an accompanying video.

'We Are The Noise' is the new single from British band The Dowling Poole.

The song is absolutely FREE, no strings attached!

The song was recorded in multiple locations during lockdown and features long-time collaborator and Sugar Plum Fairies/Jackdaw 4/The Dowling Poole band member, Andy Lewis playing bass. 

Guest drummer on ‘We Are The Noise’ is the extraordinary Darby Todd, who has played with countless artists including Kee Marcello, Gary Moore and The Darkness - and some of you may remember Darby from his days playing with Willie and Andy in Sugar Plum Fairies. 

"'We Are The Noise' is a comment on the hysteria that surrounds and consumes us all via social media, and the seemingly endless sensationalist news", says Willie Dowling. 

"The song draws attention to the paradoxical nature of many of us commenting on ‘the noise’ and thereby becoming a part of it. Everybody’s broadcasting but nobody’s listening. And of course to add further irony, this song is making it’s own particular contribution to ‘the noise’. Anyway, it was really great to play with Darby and Andy again after so many years, albeit remotely.”

We Are The Noise

The Dowling Poole released a new song on Friday the 5th of March for Bandcamp Friday.  'Slow Genocide' features special guest vocalist Tony Wright, who is well known as the frontman of Terrorvision, Laika Dog and his highly regarded solo albums.

Drummer extraordinaire Darby Todd guests on drums. Darby's recently played with Martin Barr (Jethro Tull), The Darkness and Kee Marcello (Europe) and featured on the recent The Dowling Poole song ‘We Are The Noise’.

“The extraordinary circumstances of lockdown that we have all faced, with it’s various inconsistencies and appalling governmental incompetence and obfuscation, made us think that a voice of authenticity was needed for this song", says Willie Dowling. "At that time I saw a couple of tweets by Tony Wright that reminded me he had the perfect voice and similar sensibilities to us - I was imagining him doing it as it was being written - so we were thrilled when he agreed to guest with us. And of course the ability to effortlessly mix drumming styles made Darby the ideal drummer for this track, and we’re hoping we might work together a great deal more in the future.”

'Slow Genocide' was recorded in different locations in the UK and France.

"Recording in different locations has it’s challenges, and is much more time consuming since we’re continually sending WAV's backwards and forwards just to keep on top of it all”, says Jon Poole. “Whereas face to face in the studio, Willie and I already have an unwritten shorthand as part of our process, so it’s an infinitely quicker way of working. That said, we cannot sit around forever and the end result is a track that we’re every bit as proud of as any of our other work, so I’d call it a success!”
