There’s a pulsing leaping pattern of notes in the beginning on the trumpet with some bluesy licks on the keyboard. The musicians play off of one another through twists and turns. Then wait for it! Boom! A high note that would shatter glass in a giant cathedral! This all comes to an end with a sweet grimy fluttery fade out. Enjoy the wonders of Time Pursuit!

“Forever 96” is dedicated to the year 1996 when a then small town marching band from Bayville, NJ won the CMBC (Cadets Marching Band Cooperative) Group 2 Open Championship at Giants Stadium in November of that year.

Don Olson plays keyboard on this, just as he did back in 1996 with that same band. & John Herbert Molloy plays trumpet just as he did as a 14 year old back in 1996.

However, this is a different twist with amazing sounds, great funky riffs & note selections from Don on the keyboard, and topped off at the end by a GREAT double high C from John’s trumpet.

Don “The King” Olson & John Herbert Molloy (“The Duck”) have been friends for 25 years. 

John plays trumpet, flugelhorn, soprano bugle, and more similar brass instruments, while Don plays piano, keyboards, synthesizers, organ, and more.

The basis behind this dynamic duo is that all the music to date has been recorded completely on the fly. No rehearsals. No charts. They just play off each other’s musical minds and emotion.

Both musical artists have been playing their respective instruments for 30+ years. Don has played in various bands and ensembles through the years. & John has also done the same coast to coast as a part of big bands, drum & bugle corps, and more.

Most recently Don is the musical director at a church in southern New Jersey, and John has earned two hall of fame inductions with The Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps (inducted 2020) & The Buglers Hall of Fame (Inducted 2019).

What started as just jamming together turned out to be pretty spectacular once they started hitting the record button.
