I have always had a love for Ambient music. I started making Ambient mixes about 30 years ago. I have been wanting to record a new ambient mix for a while and while I was in Iceland recently, inspiration came when I was record shopping in Reykjavik and I found a store called Space Odyssey that focused on ambient and chill music. The music that comes from Iceland has been an inspiration for me and in going there I wanted to see what was special about this country that so many amazing artists hail from it. So this mix comes from that inspiration. Artists include Brian Eno, Harold Budd, Sigur Ros, Nils Frahm, Olafur Arnalds, Hania Rani and so much more. Put this on when you want to unwind, relax and chill.

To kick off another year in quality fun creation, Opel had DJ Dan and Stanton Warriors on the bill together at Great Northern.  I opened the night with a range of house I wanted to hear and I thought would kick start a dance floor. Syd Gris - Live at Opel '24 Kickoff

Not sure how it happens but this party just keeps getting better and better! The weather this year was amazing once again, the lineup was top notch and we had more people, more hugs and more love than ever before. Being one of the first few DJ’s to get the party started I put together a head nodding chunky house set that blends into some tech house bombs and finally into some deep breaks at the end. RIPEcast Sol - Breakfast of Champions 2024

It has been about a year since my last desert show and last night I was deep in the desert dropping a 2 hour set of deep, melodic and tracky stuff. I even dropped a track I have loved for over 30 years and I am not sure if I ever played it out live. It is called "3/4 Heart" by Black Dog Productions and came out on Warp Records in 1993. One of my faves. It is towards the end of the set and to me it just fit the scenery and vibe of the desert during the rain. Oh yeah, it started raining about halfway through my set. Not heavy but noticeable. To me it just added to the moment. Hope you enjoy.

Without further delay, I’m proud to share with you my much requested set from Breakfast of Champion + It’s A New Day on New Year’s Day 2024!  I would have loved to share my live recording but due to a technical difficulty, I had to recreate the magic in a studio mix. It was amazing to kick off the new year with joy, love and hope rocking my set on the Heavy Petting Zoo stage to a sea of party people and all my friends up on stage. The highlight was debuting the track that DJ Denise and I produced at the top of my set. It’s always one of my favorite events of the year and this year was no exception. Now you can relive the magic from that moment in bass face inducing auditory bliss. BUMP IT LOUD and share!

Live at Breakfast of Champions + It's A New Day 2024

We had the absolute honor & privilege to perform at the Daybreaker SF: Peace Tour located at the breathtaking Grace Cathedral. This is the live 2-hour recording (Dancing Mandy is the first half, DJ Denise is the second half). Thank you for listening!

Playing Daybreaker at Grace Cathedral was incredibly meaningful for me on so many levels. Growing up singing in church choir was my first connection to music, so being able to DJ in a house of worship (in my wedding dress!) really brought my musical journey full circle. I thought deeply about what to play, and decided that it was really important to play soulful, uplifting house music, the music that unapologetically spreads love in the face of judgement, the music that was created (and still is) to bring fellowship to so many Black, gay, and other marginalized groups when organized religion did not support them. For so many, house music IS church — the only church where they feel 100% loved and accepted for who they are. Bringing these seemingly two diametric opposites under one roof was a powerful experience and I’m so grateful to Daybreaker and Grace Cathedral for making it happen. So as Jack said…Let There Be House!

Reef Project & Michael Fisher - Lamprey

Thee-O started DJing at the young age of 13 and by the time he was 18 in 1992, he started DJing in the thriving underground rave scene of Southern California. He has created a name for himself while changing genres and staying true to his integrity, committing to what he feels is the best in underground dance music. His consistency of skillful mixing and lively scratching has cemented “his sound” regardless of what genres co-mingle in his style.

In addition to his DJing, Thee-O is also an accomplished producer and remixer that have landed tracks on Bedrock, Suara, Perfecto, Looq, Drops and System Recordings to name just a few. His approach to music production mimics his DJing artistry in the aspect that genre comes second over the feeling of the music. Genres and styles are split, shattered and then reformed into songs that work on multiple dance floors.

Recently, he was DJing and producing with Robert Pointer (AKA Robtronik) under the name Stylus. Stylus is also responsible for some of the most engaging events to occur in Los Angeles . Their events have occurred in amazing venues such as King King in the heart of Hollywood, The Standard Rooftop in downtown LA and Los Globos in the trendy Silverlake area, while attracting international talent of both House and Techno to join in on the fun. Thee-O also continues to work with the LA Based "re:love" crew to plan and execute the legendary park parties as well as pushing the brand to extend itself into new venues and opportunities.

As of January 2019, Thee-O has relocated to Honolulu. He is already DJing on the islands and has played for events at venues like Nextdoor and Hawaiian Brian’s as well as the Tropical Oasis Retreat in Maui. While he is on the islands, the slower pace of life will allow him to work on music with less distractions and should increase his output. 

While a lot can be talked about when it comes to “Old School,” Thee-O walks the walk. He has accomplished a lot in his 24 years of being a DJ, producer and promoter and he is just getting started. He remains wildly popular while staying firmly planted into the underground scene and not falling into the hype that can surround the current EDM culture. With a new island home, new ventures, new branding, new tracks, and new ideas, the future is going to be one for the books with lots more to come from this music innovator.
