Sheer Zed's Panta RMX of ”Life" By Thee Balancer

 „Welcome To Hope" is my contribution to an experiment called „Tppr" by Laica. He send a short loop of him tapping a beat to me and other musicians. In the end Laica creates a mix out of all contributions the musicians send back to him.

Tppr was my strange little experiment. 
This short loop was the starting point for Tppr, I hoped it would be part composition, part collaboration, part improvisation, part remix and part mixtape. 
I really had no idea how this was going to work out, but it seemed like a good idea at the time, I wanted to see if I could create something sprawling and complex out of something very short and very simple and with the help of a lot of friends I did and I send my Thanks to the following:

The premiere of the movie OREGON PINE I scored and made the sound design for was on the 17th of April 2016 in Berlin at the film festival ACHTUNG BERLIN BERLIN.
On the same day I released the score album for which I made special edits of the 14 themes.

I contributed this track to a limited 2 Tape Set entitled A TAPE FOR DIL23 - released 23rd June 2018 in remembrance of David Law (1963 - 2017) known as DIL23. 
Money raised from the sale of this cassette set goes to “The Macmillan Cancer Trust”.
The artist line up is absolutely incredible and many of the tracks (like mine) where made exclusively for this release. I am very proud to be on a release together with Carter Tutti, Scanner, Laica or Sheer Zed to name but a few.

Thee Balancer is based in Berlin. Initially drawn to tape experiments in the late Seventies involving recording and layering snippets from TV alongside music, this lead Thee Balancer into electronic music with the work of Throbbing Gristle cited as a major influence on his work. After a spell in Jamaica voraciously absorbing reggae and dub, Thee Balancer returned to Germany, enrolled at Cologne's Academy of Media Arts and focussed exclusively on sound design and film score, a grounding that gives his tracks a rich atmosphere and spatial depth.
