"A Nautical Affair" is a self produced "rock soap opera" concept album about some nautical shenanigans at sea. 

This album was slowly recorded in two different bedrooms and a living room using our instruments, Pro Tools, Logic, and a single Sterling Audio ST59 microphone.

I went back and remastered/touched up all the fully completed The Elephant recordings. Most of these have already been posted on the internet somewhere, but not only were they rough recordings, but given my little knowledge at the time they were also roughly edited for playback. I fixed that. I can’t fix the bad recording jobs, but I can mask it. I hope. 

While I’m just sitting here waiting for the tracks to upload, I thought I’d share a little backstory behind these tracks. I had been in a couple bands with a some friends off and on, namely Shades of Daisy with the fantastic Daniel King, but things were slowly petering off as we were staring different schools and such. But music is something that I will not stop doing, so I started my own little side project called “The Elephant”. Since I was teaching myself how to record music at the time, I found myself recording random ideas and songs into the dusk of night. I used this name as a way to post all the various songs I’ve been working on where I could record anything I felt at that time and have continued to do so to this day.

I wrote and recorded all of these 10 songs in my downtime from 2010-2015.  Originally I had some of these tracks as an EP called “The Sellout EP.” Now that there are a few more songs and some bonus tracks, it has evolved to an album. I almost posted them in order of recording, but I think they flow better in this way.
