Sunshine

A short drone based on a 54 sec field recording I made in one of the local shoppingmalls. Timestretched and processed in Paulstretch (google it!) and then put together in my DAW and processd a little bit more... The original recording shows up at the end of the track (with a bit of reverb).

Shopping Mall

Kind of experiment this one, Its an ambient piece inspired by, and intented as a compliment to a piece of furniture a friend of mine has devised. As it is meant to be ambient it is also recommended to listen to it on a low volume preferably with the window open or similar so that the ambient sounds around you can blend with the music... Yeah I know, weird isnt it? But weird is good!

I really fell in love with this jamaican tourguide that my workmate showed me on youtube ages ago. Apparently he smoked 25 "spliffs" per day... So when I lifted some of his singing from the clip, it could only end up in an "narcotic" dub. 
This guy, even though he's a funny laid back kind of guy, is a living deterrent of any drug use, check out the clip on youtube, have a laugh, and think a little about it... Anyway, listen to my tune first though.


Narcotic dub

Just having a laugh with the michrophone... This is the first time - and if youre lucky, the only time - youll hear the Emm raping (ghee... I hope thats spelled correctly, Im a nice person, really, I am).
Got the idea from a young rapper that I almost know who has a lot of life experience despite his young age and has got a lot of interesting stuff to put in his hip hop-tunes, but instead he chooses to rap about b*tches and ho's and a gangster lifestyle that he knows zilch about. Its a pity but it is his tunes and his choises...
Anyway, the rest of the tune is plain sawtooth dubstep with a hip hopiesh beat and som symthpads.

Aleistair Crowley was a british occultist, once described as the great beast and the most wicked man in the world... He is as interesting as he is discusting. Ever since hearing how The fields of nephilim made use of some lines of poetry spoken by mr. Crowley (yes, there was an Ozzy-reference right there) in the amazing tune, "At the Gates of Silent Memory" I wanted to try it on my own. So now I did, with a few lines from the poem La Gitana...

The complete title should be something like, "Li'l miss extacy, what have you done to this guy? His standing all alone in the rain calling out for you and youre not even answering him..."

I kind of nicked the piano and the arab guy calling for his girfriend (yâ habîba - oh darling) from an arab poptune one of my co-workers showed me on youtube, so this wont go on the upcoming album (whenever that comes up)

Li'l Miss Extacy

Music, a collection of sounds arranged together to evoke something from the listener or to express something from its collector – it is only that, and all that. The pulsating tabla rhythm and the droning hurdy gurdy, the looming thumps of a dubstepbeat and the processed samples of the caressing twirls of the ney-flute… they all express what their collectors wish them to (or what the listener experience), the flickering streetlights of abandoned streets, the souls yearning for the divine or the pleasures of sin, solemn mediation and the buzz of one cup of coffee to many… 
Music for me, personally, is a way to express whats inside of me, what I long for and experience – sincere and true to myself. What you hear is me.
