Looping the main riff for an Odds song. In the final track, I'll play a solo live and record it as a loop, then play it backwards during the next verse.

Here: I'm demonstrating the versatility of the Reverend HammerShot. The rhythm track is the Nuevo 90 with the tone down 50% and the BCC all the way up. A TC Electronics Brainwaves provides the octave down. Lead track is the Balch Neck with the BCC turned down a bit and just a clean boost on. 

The idea is to experiment with what to play forwards that sounds right backwards. To do this, I have to record the rhythm track forwards, REVERSE IT, then play the solo along with the loop in reverse. Once I have something I think might sound cool, I record it, then RE-REVERSE it so the rhythm track is back to normal, but the solo is reversed. Ha HA!

I layered the analog delay washes with big reverb over the loop in real time. Difficult to control, but interesting. It's all just the B1 in front of my amp. 

I tracked it all into my Presonus on one channel, compressed things as much as possible to avoid the big bumps, gave it a little bottom end, copied everything over to a duplicate track and panned them hard left and right, then boosted the gain as much as I could on the master. 

I added a third stereo track with the same settings, but dialed in a big hall reverb and adjusted until it sounded right. Good, Eddie Kramer pan washes are missing in today's music, so I'm experimenting here. Difficult to replicate without an actual knob. I would have more control over it had I layered the washed over later, but this is stream of consciousness, right?
