I will continue my read from the book entitled, "African American Folktales, Stories from Black Traditions in the New World," selected and edited by Roger D. Abrahams.

This folktale named, "A Boarhog For A Husband."  This story gives you a glimpse of what lengths a man will go through to get a woman.  But sometimes it can be costly in the end, as was the case in this story.

This is based on a real life event of what Malidoma Patrice Some' had experienced at the Jesuit school after haven been kidnapped from his tribal village at the age of four.  He had been away from his family for many of years and was now beginning to rebel against the teachings that conflicted with what he knew to be false from deep within.
