Goat Save the Queen

The Fainting Goats is an open collective of (non-)musicians, allegedly (not) existing since more than 25 years.  Despite their long time (non-)existence, The Goats have never released any records or performed live. This is most likely due to the fact that The Goats operate according to the Theory of Obscurity,  as formulated by the mysterious N. Senada and originally applied by the avant-garde musical group The Residents. Senada's Theory of Obscurity states that "an artist can only produce pure art when the expectations and influences of the outside world are not taken into consideration". Consequently The Goats are convinced that the outside world is not supposed to ever hear the results of their artistic activities. In fact The Goats go even a step further and state that pure art can only be produced when not even the expectations and influences of the artists producing it are taken into consideration. In order to reach this, the results of all artistic activities of The Goats are not made available to themselves, and to make sure this really happens they simply do not produce any result at all. 
There are several theories regarding how, despite all this, some recordings of The Fainting Goats are slowly becoming available. The most common one says that one of the founding members of the band, the German non-musician Kai N. Bock, sometimes deviates from the theory of obscurity and cannot resist the temptation to actually try and record some music (it has to be said though that he does this with no intention to release the material, and that to avoid a sense of guilt apparently he does not listen to what he's playing neither during nor after the recording process; even mixing is done without listening, which might explain some of the results). The few available songs of The Goats might possibly be some of these recordings that have been stolen to Kai N. Bock by another band member, the (sometimes) musician John Goatti. And indeed, John Goatti seems to have an uncontrollable urge to release Kai N. Bock's songs whenever he can get hold of them. It is currently unclear how many other members the band/collective counts and how many have collaborated with them by non producing music in all these years. Kai N. Bock and John Goatti seem to be the only stable members, one thing which has never been confirmed by the band in any of the extremely rare interviews (in these occasions of course neither Kai N. Bock nor John Goatti appear and they send some real fainting goats instead, which makes their interviews quite amusing but a bit difficult to decode). A statement by Kai N. Bock that has been often reported is that in the end it does not really matter how many or which musicians are in the band, since none of them is playing or recording anyway.  Rumours of Don Johnson having been a secret member of the band during his Miami Vice period have never been confirmed nor denied by The Goats. The Fainting Goats are currently not working on their next album, called Wurstigkeit/Goatlessness and planned not to be released in the year 2525 (if goat is still alive).
