Vusall Insun - Programma [Future Avenue]

D.J. MacIntyres SLC-6 Music continues a strong fourth quarter by showcasing new interpretations of Rockkas Black Sands. Hailing from Sri Lanka, Rockka aka Lakith Adikaram has been releasing his own unique style of progressive music for the better part of three years. Making his mark through a series of Droid9 releases featuring deep and atmospheric grooves, Rockka demonstrated his mastery, paving the way for a notable ascent early in his career. Although younger than most of his contemporaries, the Nugegoda resident impressed going forward, quickly landing projects with Balkan Connection, Clubsonica, Mango Alley, RKP and Yomo Records. SLC-6 Music has also been a comfortable landing spot for Rockka, with two originals and a remix released across 2023, one of those being Black Sands which was part of the SIX: Stage-16 collection. Now, looking to inject new life into the track, SLC-6 calls upon Nicolas Benedetti, Dr Green and Matias Vega to re-imagine the production in their own essence. The first interpretation finds Nicolas Benedetti returning to the label for his sixth appearance. Known for his smooth progressive style, the Buenos Aires resident re-models Black Sands in fine fashion, maintaining the dark drive of the original while adding his own chunky cadence and lively melodic top lines. Sri Lankan artist and label A&R Dr Green is next and he brings greater depth to the track with his cross-cultural style. Subversive vocal phrasing and timely instrumentation give the mix his own inimitable stamp, while a powerful low end and stunning effects narrative provide all the dancefloor magic you could ever want. Rounding out the release with his second SLC-6 appearance is Argentinean talent Matias Vega who arrives following an EP for Suza Records. The Catamarca resident brings a nostalgic approach with a series of buzzing chord stabs and panoramic effects which ultimately power this peak-time gem.

Celebrating our 91st release as we continue the countdown to our100th, onedotsixtwo proudly presents Mind Vision, the latest EP from Uruguayan producer Juan Lagisquet. Known for his hypnotic grooves and melodic depth, Juan’s tracks have been supported by industry heavyweights like Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, and Guy J. His latest work features four original tracks: Pinecone, which blends rhythmic drive with lush melodies; Mind Vision, a deeply emotive journey; Time To Forget, with atmospheric textures; and Orichalcum, showcasing sophisticated sound design.

The EP also features remixes from two outstanding artists. Brazilian duo Gorkiz & Mind Echoes, known for their releases on labels such as Transensations Records, Balkan Connection, and AH Digital, bring a dynamic and groove-oriented interpretation to Pinecone. Their music has been supported by DJs like Paul Hamilton and Ruben Karapetyan, making a significant mark in the progressive house scene.

Mir Omar, a New York-based producer with a penchant for deep, ethereal sounds, reworks Orichalcum, adding an immersive layer that captivates the dancefloor. With releases on labels like UV and Soundteller Records, Mir Omar has earned support from notable names such as Hernan Cattaneo Aly & Fila and Max Graham.

Together, these artists elevate Mind Vision, making it a true celebration of melodic and progressive sounds as we approach our milestone 100th release.

3rd Avenue's first 'We Are The Future' compilation was released in 2013. The collection featured a snapshot of some of electronic music's future stars and further cemented that 3rd Avenue is an imprint that's committed to the growth of underground dance music.

The EP Black Orchid by musician DNL Mike immerses the listener in a rich world of analog sound, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of majestic natural phenomena. The compositions captivate with their power and unpredictability, akin to the oceans surge. The layers of sound evoke strong gusts of wind capable of carrying away the most intimate thoughts, plunging one into a meditative state. The musicians soul is evident in every note and rhythm, much like dawn, when the first rays of the sun gently touch the earth, awakening the world to a new day. This sincerity and depth are similar to the moment when the clouds part, revealing the sky and allowing one to witness the grandeur of nature in all its glory. A special highlight of the EP Black Orchid is the debut track featuring the producers own vocals. His voice sounds as natural and organic as birds singing in spring or the rush of a waterfall, blending with the musical background to create a unique harmony.
