Swan Song

And so a cancer cell festered and grew in the damp, twitching heart of a primordial swamp until it miraculously gained sentience, immediately matured beyond its malignant boyhood fantasies of slow, predictable marches into the welcoming embrace of death, and acquired the higher taste necessary to seek out more enlightened hosts to infect, corrupt and ultimately control, graciously forcing the glassy-eyed simians it inhabited to find their fucking spines and play that sweet, dick-melting rock music, the kind you can't tell your friends about, because it just killed you. 
Oh, and then we moved to L.A.
