My goal was to just finish the song; I've just started composing, so finishing a song is a big deal to me. It loops once partly to mimic the way nothing ever changes within a prison cell, each day's the same as the one before it. The piece also uses very few instruments because a prison cell is empty. I tried hard to get across a mix of hope and hopelessness.
