Red Death

Formed in the spark of the new year in 2013 by longtime southern Alberta musicians Ryland Moranz and Tyler Holt, the Fox Academy draws from a deep well of song idioms spanning folk, blues, jazz, waltze and cabaret.  The tale of how two friends would go on to create a mutual identity through music is a simple one, but it does require going back a few years. 

It was a 14 year old Tyler that first decided he wanted to play music in his small hometown of Raymond Alberta, Trading in the rural small town life for a set of guitar strings and a mind for music that spoke for itself like Allen Ginsberg.  

Meanwhile down the road, (and back in time a little farther) Ryland was sitting on a step in front of his parents house in Fort Macleod, watching his father play the guitar while his mother sang Jony Mitchell and decided that a life withouth music would surely be hell, and upon deciding so made the first move towards his new life.  To continue to be 6, but in a more musical way.   

it was H.P Lovecraft that once said "The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown."  It is with this in the hearts of the Fox Academy that they move forward into the world, arms aloft, ready for illumination.
