STFFMX011: LSM Presents : 'Bring On The Brass' - Sid Wesley

The tribute set I put together for my Thursday afternoon set at The Stump N Stone Stage. First half is a Pumpkin Tribute and the second half is a Jon H Tribute. This was a very challenging project and I am so excited to say that this is the one take, live recording of the set live at Tall Tree. Jon and Nick are two of my biggest influences in DJ'ing, not only for what they do behind turntables/controllers, but the way the present themselves in a daily manner. We miss and love you both so much. And extra props to Qdup, Everyman and Tuck In Tyler for helping facilitate lots of the music used in this mix and for providing vocal recordings that are used in the mix. Put your hearts up for Nick and Jon, you will always live on through your music!

Dedicated to the first love of my life and though life moves on, some things never change.

Before recording this mix it had been two years since I'd last uploaded a mix-tape and for good reason. 2015 for me was a year full of heaviness I’d rather forget and 2016 also brought forth its own challenges, so finding my mojo to record something fresh took awhile to happen.

Then 2017 brought with it a chance of new beginnings and with sunshine back in my heart and a positive mindset again permeating my soul, I finally felt ready to hit record on my latest jam session.

With my vibes high and having been gifted an afternoon off from life, I thought what better way to celebrate than with a mix of some Drum ’n’ Bass goodness.

Hello friends! 

This is a musical journey that has been created for my Dad as a Father's day gift.  Music is how I express my self and I wanted to put together what best represented where it all started. This is the music that I grew up on with my parents and that easily has the largest influence on my music career.  I'll always remember foot tapping to classic rock on the way to hockey when I was a kid. Cruising down the Deerfoot with the windows down on a sunny day.  My father is one of the nicest most humble men I know and the best father anyone could ask for. Thanks for everything Dad.  I hope you all enjoy this journey.

For the past couple years, The Funkee Wadd headed to England to play the Ghetto Funk Shindig Weekender, as well as perform at many festivals around Alberta and BC, such as Centre Of Gravity, Electric Love Music Festival, Tall Tree Music Festival, Astral Harvest, Shambhala, Atmosphere, Cumberland Wild and many more. The Funkee Wadd and his golden(Steel) Harmonica are known for causing a dance floor to get all types of wiggly, and will always make sure you leave the floor weak in the knees and fiending for more. Originally from the east coast of Canada, Chad moved West to mountain town, Banff Alberta, where he started his DJ career 15 years ago. With a massive, versatile catalogue and Specializing in Deep Soulful and vocal Funky House music, he had held down a healthy variety of successful residencies since. From swanky lounges to grimy pub nights and all between providing confidence in adaptation to any room/venue/client. 
   Freshly relocated to Perth WA he hopes to bring that same style in a more suiting environment for that Poolside House music vibe.
